Epic has been "phasing out" GameSpy for its Unreal series of first-person shooters, said a spokesperson, adding, "We're spinning [up an in-house solution] next week and we don't foresee any impact."

I am not sure how credible that link is.

Maybe this will mean no more duplicate logins?
Great news indeed! Thank you for the link!

Just to let you guys know, this is probably definitely authoritatively almost certainly the last time Nova officially prophesies the official end of UT3.

        Celebrate!

It's become like every other post he makes. Getting pretty ridiculous.

Well Unreal seems to be safe so there's that.

UT3 is safe. We have an in-house solution and it will just require you to do a few steps locally to get it running. More info coming!

I hope that it won't be a semi-solution like the one when a lot of servers disappeared from the browser, and people were required to run the game as administrators.
Still, I'm afraid most people don't care enough to look up solutions somewhere, and will just abandon the game completely.

Thanks for an official statement on that.

Sly. was very very very sad when witnessing the news about the masterserver, it was the worst downer of the year.

                              *patiently waiting*

So what you are saying is people will have to read this forum in order to play this game online? UT3 is not safe IMHO if that is the case. Lots of people who play never read these forums, new players will never pickup the game now and some existing ones might be left confused.

This game was on life support this just might be the end.
