UT3 still worth it?

I was thinking of buying ut3 but i want to know if its still worth it? Do people still play?

Personally I don't play Unreal Tournament 3 (UT3) that much. However, if I had a better computer I'd most likely play it more often.
It is a great game, even without all the content that Epic Games, Inc. had to cut off to release the game earlier (thank Midway for that).

I find the game pretty fun and love the feeling of the vehicles and weapons. It is definitely worth it buying the game considering it only costs around 5€ it's pretty cheap for what it is, though I wish it had become what it was supposed to.

I still find that this game provides me with an fps experience that is unmatched by any other game of this type. both online or off. and the amount of user made content is amazing. people are still making things for this game, despite the low online player counts.

I think it's worth it. Many custom content, and if you're planning to play online, there are plenty of servers with people with them during the NA day and EU evening.

Depends. What are you looking to get from it? Online competition? That would have to be broken down to where you live. There still is a small but strong dedicated Central to Eastern US community of players that DM, sometimes duel, and play Greed mode. Those servers would be Beer Drinkers DM, Voidys DM, and the official Epic Greed server afaik. Only catch is most of these guys have been playing since the release of UT3, some even further back. I've played UT99 during it's hay days but went on to play Day of Defeat in it's beta days till Day of Defeat Source came out. I dont' think I would of stuck out PC gaming if it weren't for UT3 online. I started back into CTF when it was small, then did some DM.. my point though, before I started reminiscing, is that most of the players are better than average so starting off will be discouraging, none-the-less there will be the fun..

I think I can speak for the Warfare community here: there is the Volgodom UT3: Sentinel Wars server in Russia which is active during the NA day as well as the Epic Warfare 2 Titan which is UK server, also runs during the day, but has titan.

During the late evening, the Official Epic UT3 Warfare 2 or 3 server is active from about 11 ET to about 2 ET the next morning.

For VCTF: The UT3 Pro Suspense server from France is usually packed during the day.

I can speak for the VCTF gamemode. The european scene is quite active.
