Unreal Engine 4 ? Download ?

Hello , i was trying to find out when they will release UNREAL ENGINE 4 but is there release date ? I mean i can download UE 3 but why not 4 ?

Pretty simple: Because Epic will wait before developing/releasing a UDK with Unreal Engine 4 - that is, if they will do it. They would first want to release their own titles, probably later allow companies to use it before then releasing a dev-kit for public use.

Will be interesting to see if they release some form of the tools with Fortnite ala UT. Kinda doubt it.

are we sure that UE4 will be public? i mean : will we be able/allowed to use it like the oldest engines?
because without a solid game to go with there s no real interrest to do maps....

wasnt the UDK tool build to prepar us to that?(standalone engine)...@ least "unreal" is still in the tool name for the nostalgics ....lol....
