Well when it comes to destructible environments it was just something I was thinking about that might add a lot, how it can be implemented, will all the environments be destructive? I dont know, I know that if there is a way to implement something like that in Unreal Tournament, and make it work, Epic will find it. I still play UT3 even now Izan4gi, I loved UT3, the graphics are still brilliant, the gameplay is still there, tons of mods, maps, I've always liked it, i dont compare it to passed unreal tournaments, just not really what I do, I just apreciate the unreals for what they and what they bring, each UT game has its own pros and cons.

When it comes to Epics own buisness model Veggie, they have more then enough money, games are still being produced on UE3 right now, just look at Bioshock Infinate. They are one of the most healthyest game developers in the industry right now, they have a development team consisting of 250 people now as Mark Reign said in an interview with Adam Sessler, will UE4, they are just going to be even more successful as creating stuff in the new engine is done a LOT easier, faster, and in real time, the tools are a lot easier to use and with consoles basically just becomming a PC with the next gen, it does make using UE4 a lot easier now which means probably even more game developers choosing UE4 then there was for UE3, they are going to be loaded. Its not a matter of weather another Unreal Tournament game will be proffitable, it will without a doubt but its more of weather Epic games want to do another unreal game period as I get the impression even from 2 years ago that they are just tired of unreal tournament and basically want a break from the series for awhile.

With all the stuff, the technology, the graphical advances in UE4, a new Unreal would look absolutely spectacular!!! yes I remember how the tech demo for what it was called back then Unreal Tournament 2007 became nothing what UT3 became. This is different this time around because we've actually seen some games using the UE4 engine already, anyone remember Star Wars 1313 from E3 last year? It would be quite something, to see UT in the new engine.

Would be nice to see a new UT with (partially) destructible maps and better gameplay and graphics. Of course, destructible maps and better gameplay don't matter if your computer lags and crashes often.

I'm not even sure what that last post meant ... anyway, yes, I too am sure that a UT4 on UE4 would be breathtaking and spectacular, and I would wish as much as anyone that Epic would tackle it.

But all that baselessly wishing like that does is put you on a fast track to disappointment.

          Non profit game! Good publicity!!!

I think Epic games does not need to do a game to have a profit out of it! because if its done the right way it will be a promotion and demo of the potential of UE4! yes just a demonstration and if done well a publicity stunt to sell more UE4 editors to who is looking to make new games!!!

...For exemple: If I had a load of Money, you can bet I´d do a game on the next UE4 editor!...
...But back to realty, I will have to wait for the next Unreal game with a UE editor to do some inspiring work demo! anyway I can also use UDK, but cant do much because of minimal resorses...

I'm pretty happy to see that everywhere I see this techdemo posted youtube/blogs/news-sites, everyone still remembers UT and are always asking for a new Unreal Tournament, i was pretty surprised since i thought the new gears of war generation would take over. This is just another reason for Epic to make a new UT, and have a bit of respect, for us, who made them big some years ago. If only UT3 was polished I wouldn't be crying for a new UT, but watching such a game with so much potential fading away is just frustrating. Maybe there's still a hope.. or not.

Maybe Epic does "respect" the handful of legit pros out there who may have positively affected the game's popularity. Maybe they even "respect" some of the rest of us, too, who've simply helped keep the lights on. And maybe they don't just lump all of us in with the omnipresent mass of entitled, overgrown adolescent jerkwad addicts who do little else but b**** and moan incessantly. Maybe.

The bits of favorable responses and nostalgic references to UT from respectable fans are neat to see — but let us not fool ourselves. When it comes to multi-million-dollar decisions like whether "to make a new UT," it's simply not realistic to think that some imagined quantity of owed "respect" is factoring one bit into their calculations.

The best way to guarantee the death of the UT franchise would be for Epic to ship a UT4 game that doesn't make money. Lets hope that doesn't happen.

I think UT3 suffered a bit from the beginning of the 2008 financial crisis. At that time - late 2007/early 2008 - many companies were laying off employees - not the kind of environment that is supportive of 'discretionary' spending on video games. Also, the product was rushed out in an obviously buggy state, and sales suffered from the reports of bugginess.

Epic will make UT4 if/when the financial and marketing guys approve the project, which will only happen when they think it will make money. To do anything else would be foolish for Epic.

                    Yes!!
World is different. Today we have games like Bioshock Infinite, Battle Field 4, Destiny...
Epic tried to bring back the face 2 face DM feelings of UT99, that was good, I mean the basic gameplay of UT3 was solid, but it was not enough, far from enough.
UT99 was GOTY, the best thing for the future of the Unreal franchises, is to think outside the box and create something really mind-blowing and win the GOTY again!

I think it will be quite some time before ut4 is even in the works...

Yeah, i think so too. It makes complete sense for Epic to release an Unreal Tournament game on UE4 early/mid 2014 on the PC, PS4 and/or Xbox.

I think the rise of social media and online game streaming will make the next Unreal Tournament, the best one yet. If you think about the concept of UT (primarily UT99)... its about space miners fighting/killing each other in space, for the entertainment of OTHERS and for their own personal grudges against other players and clans. Surely the new Social digital world can make this concept a reality?

Also, EPIC ***CITADEL**** Demo?! It's got to be inspired (if not a re-make) of the CTF map in UT2004/UT2003 (CTF-Citadel)
