I don't host any files or upload hardly any, but for the people that do this must suck big time. I can see a lot of old UT2004/UT3 maps and mods just disappearing completely if not hosted somewhere else. It's a good thing I'm almost done downloading what I want.
Anyway, here's what's in the link:

GameFront File Hosting Rules Changelog – 11-05-2012
On July 19, 2012, several new rules regarding GameFront's file hosting service are going into effect.
1. New deletion rules for registered user files:
These rules will go into effect on July 19, 2012. After that date, files uploaded to a registered user account will need 1 download every 60 days to avoid deletion. If a "user file" is not downloaded at least once in a sixty day period, it will be automatically deleted due to inactivity. If a user file receives at least 1 download every sixty days, it will stay on GameFront indefinitely. This rule will affect new files you upload, as well as files you already store on the site. After July 19, 2012, if files uploaded to your user account have not been downloaded at least 1 time in a 60 day period, they will be deleted.
2. Allowed file types:
Only files listed on our whitelist below will be accepeted by the system.
3. New video file rules:
Gameplay videos must be in one of the formats listed below on our whitelist, and must be 10 minutes long or less.
PS: If you want to submit one of your UT2004 stuffs to the official GameFront general archive that preventing get deleted from the site through your dashboard, here's how at the link: http://forums.epicgames.com/threads/674369
Downloads from territories.
As the first file hosting rules changelog had been changed, there is one awkward thing I don't like: the following territories below are able to download from GameFront. If you're not in one of the below territories then, unfortunately, you will be unable to download files from GameFront (you can only upload your file to GF).
The more you upload, people from territories that are not listed above will get an 403 error from the file you uploaded, and the files from your dashboard will be deleted for 60 days for inactivity. To all UT modders, DON'T USE GameFront anymore! Use MediaFire, UTzone.de, Dropbox or any file hosting sites instead!
PS: Some file hosting sites (like MediaFire) have possible limitations for free account in terms of storage size, upload size limit, traffic/bandwidth and expiration. If you don't know then, here's the link and see the difference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compari...sting_services (or see the following from file hosting sites)
I created this thread for solely purpose (also in UT2004) that old and new people may not wish visited to GameFront site. Thank you for reading this.
