Sniping with the scope...

Yeah, I believe I did this when I still played. I kind of hit both LMB and RMB at the same time on my mouse when sniping from the scope. The "point" was to only remain zoomed in for as long as it was helpful so that you could return to your full FOV and scan the screen for new targets/players/projectiles as quickly as possible (whether or not you got the kill). Also, pointless to remain zoomed in most of the time during the reload animation unless the target was at long range, you felt safe remaining still, or the target isn't changing his angle of attack much relative to your screen. Hell, I would try to stay zoomed in for as short as possible only during the moment where you make finer adjustments after sweeping to the target. That's what I remember anyways... I haven't played in several months, committed to uninstalling the game indefinitely.

The point of the scope is to help aim - just like a scope on a real gun. If people say the scope is useless I suppose they think scopes on real guns are also useless. I fire while zoomed in b/c not doing so would defeat the point of zooming in. If you're using the cross hairs on the scope is it not rediculous to suddenly stop and use the normal cross hairs? (assuming you haven't been ambushed or the target hasn't gotten significantly closer)

Oh and good for you for uninstalling. This game is like crack. Unfortunately it's been hacked from day 1.

I snipe like this sometimes, but usually when I'm chasing FC or on Anarchy rooftops. Its from trying to zoom in/out too quickly to avoid eating trirox. I usually use the lowest zoom, by tapping the right mouse quickly, then shoot and unzoom. When the pressure is on those fingers start doing whatever they want. And yeah, I hit some crazy shots like that sometimes.

I haven't played Unreal Tournament in awhile, but I have noticed problems regarding my sniping habit in Team Fortress 2.

In Team Fortress 2, your sniper rifle doesn't do a lot of damage when you are unscoped. I found that I often unscoped too early, causing me to miss the damage bonus of being scoped in. Even though I was sure I unscoped a millisecond after shooting... I blame network latency.

Anyway, point is, I do this too sometimes. Most noticeable in other games.

I rarley use scope even if someone is far away I find it hard to aim with scope. I get way more head shots not using zoom and I use a HUGE white circle for my flak cross hair for those hack shots.
