    Turning ingame chat function on/off

Is this in any way possible in UT3?

I'm slightly annoyed by the _constant_ whining by some players (mostly bta), either directed to me or others.

I've seen the words noob, nub, nab, link/rocket noob & all the other possible variations enough already.

Splash or hitscan, it sometimes seems almost every single weapon is hated in this game.
You're only considered "pro/good" or whatever by these people if you can use shock or sniper but dont have a decent aim AND a lower ping though or they'll get you on that one...

Anyways this isnt supposed to be a rant, if you can help me it would be appreciated.
I know of some other peeps with this question but i cant seem to find anything... I'm almost certain you could play around with these settings in the original UT?

You can turn it off via ini editing...

Short version: I disagree with disabling in game chat so I won't help.

Play bots offline if you don't want to communicate with people.

      LOL ty!

      Question: Ever played bta?

Like the community of UT3 is so big i'm getting to know certain people & their attitude (if they are joking or not..) but thx anyways. At least i know its possible

Edit: I see you're from the usa, maybe its different over there

K found it myself, i knew this was possible.

        set Engine.HUD ConsoleMessageCount 0
set Engine.HUD ConsoleMessageCount 4 (original value)

Like anything else this can be simply put into a key bind.

Now i can shut up the whiners/cry babies whenever i want!

        Thx again for you help

Probably the best tweak in the game.
I recommend you turn the chat beep off too to achieve ultimate game enjoyment.

Seraphic you're a rocketstingerbionoob, and now a chat hacker too! you can't mute me muahahahah ^^

jk. good luck with that then! from my experience, tweaking with ini crashes my game many times, but if it works give feedback here please^^
