I just bought this game for PC and I have some questions

How do I tell if a server has bots in it or not? I cant stand every game is only bots why even have a server like that

How can I find a good game of DM TDM or CTF without having to spend 10 minutes downloading maps to find out its a bot match

Do people even play vanilla servers? I just want to be able to play the game the way it was originally meant to be played without bots

Bots are marked with a "+" in the playercount. And with disabling the option "show empty servers" in your filter it only shows you servers with real players on them.

The most popular and busy public servers normally don't run any custom content. It still would be a good idea to get some popular custom maps. I suggest downloading the HOLP packs, those maps are awesome and you see them here and there on servers.

I just joined this forum, even though I've been reading the postings since 2004. Thanks for the information about UT3. I waited until 2010 to purchase the game because I didn't have the hardware to run it (I built my machine, which I now use with Win 7, in 2003). I like both UT2004 and UT3.

Thanks. Yeah, I have downloaded a few levels. The only mutator I use is Bloom. I've also played select levels included in the March UDK - wow, the lighting system is so much better. I'm a screenshot photographer (a new hobby of mine, since I can't afford photography right now) and I've taken a few pictures using the new engine. If only there were live players on those levels.
