DM or CTF?

IF your server pings well(competitive or less to others) you can try a tdm or a bta server.F2K clan server (bta)was filled not because of maps or mini map or anything but lower ping than other servers.Now its a bit better organized but not as PHX(PHX pings a bit higher though).

If u decide tdm u should join irc ,levi pug prolly.Ask the guys there n in some other channels what they want from a sever(settings etc) .You can ask help about bta settings in a sever in irc too.Find out what players want from a server ,mutators,settings etc)

A pub irc server could work (not sure) = password server with no bot.Only for irc players(many are decent +++ n know each other - better than playing a pub).


If your server cant compete with the popular ones ,regarding ping n lag , then u have a problem.

still what someone said, most server are empty except a few. new ones are basically never accepted or populated.

Honestly, I wouldn't open up a server. CTF is sadly dead so you won't have any people join your server. With DM, there are already the established DM servers. There might not be enough people at this point with UT3. gl!

There are plenty of servers that never see any players at all. I'm afraid you'll be wasting your time.

I'm planning to bring back online our DM server but now i wonder if we should
run a DM server or a CTF.
It will run New Custom maps only.

What do you guys think?
