    UT3 on win7 x64 nvidia GTX260

I just rebuilt my computer with win 7 x64. I have the Nvidia GTX260 card with the latest driver. When I run the game the screen is blank, even during the initial startup with the animated Nvidia and other messages.

I installed the latest UT3 patch

If I press ALT-ENTER to toggle windowed it works fine

Any ideas how to make it work full screen?

I have an AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual core 4200+ at 2.2 GHZ
      4 gig
      64 bit
      win 7
Nvidia GTX 260 - 896 MB GDDR3 video memory (kickass video card)
      4.9 windows experience rating

I can run everything great, this computer should have no problems running UT3, I ran UT3 on same computer with vista and xp, and an older video card.

I got it working. It was defaulting to 1024x768. When I toggled to windowed I was able to go into settings and change the fullscreen resolution to the max 1680x1050 and now its working fine. hoorah

Maybe just updating the Nvidia drivers just to be safe

I don't know about the GTX 260 the GPU core clock and memory clock are slower then the GTS 250. I'm looking at a GTX 275 2GB.

If your only running the 4200+, a CPU upgrade would go a long way as well. Look at the first post here: http://utforums.epicgames.com/showthread.php?t=680572

I used to have a 6400+ 3.2 gig Dual Core.
              I upgraded to a Phenom II x4 940 3.2 gig
The frame increase was unreal (no pun intended)
I went from 30-60 FPS on medium detail (1920x1080)
to 100+ FPS on medium detail.
Medium detail because I find allot of the eye candy distracting.

Zerglings, the GTX260 is a much higher rated card than the GTS250. The GTX line is considered the highend line, and the 260 is the lower end of the high end line. I believe the GTS series are their middle-tier cards. I've read many reviews that suggest the GTX 260 is significantly better than the GTS 250.

To the rest of you, I agree 100% I could use a CPU upgrade, but believe it or not,the card I have really makes up for it and I've yet to find a game that doesn't run great. With 4g ram and dual core, ,my machine runs surprisingly well for a 4-5 year old computer.

Its still wierd that full screen isn't working at lower resolutions with UT3, I've not had that problem with other games. I do have the latest drivers installed. On the flip side it runs great at 1680x1050, so I'm not complaining.

With Ut3, what do I type to get the actual frame rate? It feels good, but I'd like to see the real FPS I'm getting.

                Thanks

I'm going to ditch buying that GTX275 for these new ones if they cost below $1000 AUS.

                      GTS 250 clocks Speeds.
                      GPU 800Mhz

Yes well it is also rumoured that the top model is going to have at least 3 to 4 times more shader processing power then a GTX 295 and a wopping 6GB of GDDR5 memory.
I'll wait and see but it looks like were about to enter a new era in desktop graphics thats going to blow all the old gen out the door!

[EDIT]Take a read here. Goood if its true![/EDIT]
