I take it you've tried forcing the refresh rate to 75 Hz via Display Settings -> Advanced -> Monitor (if using Vista) ? If windows does not present you with an option to force 75 Hz then it's likely that your monitor won't support 75 Hz, no matter what.

Assuming you manage to get Windows to force it to 75Hz, bear in mind that a lot of low-cost LCD monitors achieve a 75 Hz refresh rate by simply skipping 1 frame in every 5, because the electronics works at a fixed 60 Hz refresh rate. So it's possible that setting it to 75 Hz will actually not give you any benefit.

Hi! thx 4 ur answer, y try to change the refresh using the catalys Control Center, and i can set 75 hz but automaticaly decrease the res, in the information monitor apears 75hz and 1152x864 perfectly. But what i want is to set the desktop in 1680x1050 with 60hz and inside the game 1152x864.

          Thank

What you are wanting is not a problem, just do that, set your desktop to whatever and in game, go to video and set what resolution you want. That is all there is to it.

Hi!, my problem is that in ut there is not a option to change the refresh in the game, only the res. If i set the res in ut to 1152x864 the refresh maintained at 60 and i can't change it to 75 :S
The only way so far is to set the res in desktop to 1152x864 and the refresh to 75, but i want the desktop in 1680x1050 :S

              thx a lot

There is a utility in the DirectX SDK called "DirectX Control Panel". You can download the DirectX SDK free from MSDN (Microsoft). It allows the refresh rate to be forced to a particular value. To my knowledge, that's the only way to do what you want.

                    Hey Jhonyshow,

Are you sure that your 1152 x 864 in UT3 is running at 60 hz? In the advanced settings to view the monitor resolutions and their associated refresh rates, 1152 x 864 only runs at 75 hz on my monitor, while, 1680 x 1050 runs at 60 hz on mine, prolly the same as yours.

I run split resolutions are you are trying to do.

Perhaps, sometimes you can have two of the same resolutions and the option to run them at 60 or 75 hz, perhaps you can eliminate the 60 hz option.

So you are saying, if you right click on your desktop, click on properties, go to Settings, click on Advanced, go to Adapter, click on List all Modes, it shows 1152 x 864 available at 60hz only?

How are you determining that it is not running the refresh rate you want in UT3?

If i set the refresh with the catalys central control apears 75 hz, but if i set the res in ut to 1152x864 apears 60hz.
