How well do you think you do at UT3? Pt.2

Well, once again. Due to the fact I somehow screwed up the previous poll, I'm creating a new one (with Flak's blessings).

Just answer the poll. Do I need to explain more?

Please, be honest. This is an anonymous poll.

EDIT: I tried it, it doesn't take you to a UT2004 page.

Average. I've been wanting to play this game again after capping all the cheevos on Gears of War 2. But man, 6 million points take forever...Maybe I'll make this my Funday Sunday game, considering it would be healthy to take a break from Gears...

Thank God. A poll did that this morning and it cost me a 6 point infraction when I tried to be a funny guy...Oooppss...

One issue: this poll is very vague. Compared to the masses I'm option #1, but compared to the competitive community I'd consider myself no more than average...

'I'm somewhat above average.' - I don't play competitively, and if I did I would be destroyed. The servers I frequent have some very good players, and I feel I compete with them. It's not too uncommon to see me in the top 3 spots, and I rarely play this game in my best shape.

I'm pretty sure we're comparing to the masses, which is why I picked option number 2.

That is about where I think I am, I have been accused of cheating multiple times in pubs but I suck against people that are half decent at the game. I voted above average. There are allot of people that are lesser skilled but I know there are people above me too.

Nobody ever accused me of cheating.

I accuse myself of cheating, but I picked slightly above average.

I still feel the poll needs an option between the top one and 2nd to top one... I've been accused of botting multiple times in UT2k4 but never in UT3, probably primarily because the game runs so poorly for me so I can't aim or move as well as I could in UT2k4 with 100 true frames per seconds with my monitor on 100hz... UT3 will drop to 30 FPS sometimes and the weapons always have lag between when I press the fire button and when they fire (even with one-thread frame lag disabled)... Working on getting better hardware.

It depends on the game (and sometimes map) but I try to be a team player which means being an asset to my team and playing as excellently as I can on the TEAM. I tend to be on the offensive and shine more in flag/skull carrying/node capturing because I am very aggressive, but will transition to defense, heal vehicles, swap teams, and do other things that might not necessarily help my stats but help the team as a whole when it's needed. It's kind of hard to judge the overall "goodness" of a player since a team player is probably measured more qualitatively than quantitatively. Plus, I always play in team games, and the skill level of your team mates and the balance of the teams ends up affecting your stats as well, so that's another thing to consider.

Hm... I would say I'm in oh... the 90th percentile in skill level in the UT world. There are definitely people out there that hand it to me on a regular basis (well, in UT2k4 at least :P), but I've been playing UT for around 7 years and when you've played fast-paced FPSs for that long it's only natural that certain tactics and skillsets carry over between games.

On another note, I think there are a lot of people out there who will never reach their full potential because their hardware isn't up to par. I have a bansheepad, MX518, monitor capable of 100hz, and soon will hopefully have a video card that can consistently run the game at 100+fps. Compare that with a system that gets 20-40fps, a cheap mouse, fabric mouse pad, and cheap LCD monitor with a low refresh rate and ghosting. Who do you think will play better? I distinctly remember my gameplay skyrocketing when I upgraded my system in UT2k4.

Not really the main topic of discussion, but just felt like throwing that out there ^_^

Whew, I'm glad this one is working correctly. There seems to be a bug if you use the same answers or question as a previous poll. I'll check into it and thank you for starting a new one.

                      I voted!

BTW, if I can get accused of botting, anyone can.

It all depends on who you ask. I don't think I'm that great, but my clan mates tell me I'm pretty good.

I don't actually play UT3 very much. I've been messing with it for about a month now (maybe a little more), but I spend about 80% of my time in the editor instead of playing the game.

Average for someone who plays a lot. I inspire noobs to do better by beating them without mercy. It's my contribution to society. Against good players I do, eh, so so .

Is this poll about how good we are online?

If it is then it should have another option:
I,m from Australia so my ping sucks!

Most of the time I,m running around Warfare, Greed, CTF and VCTF servers with 200+ ping, I won't do DM on non Aussie servers.

I very seldom get under 250 ping on the Epic servers but most of the time I don't do too bad so I guess I,m average.

Does the mouse pad really matter? I use a standard black pad, and a G5. What advatage does a $39,99 pad have? In my opinion everyone can play well with cheap gear as long as they practise with it and find it comfortable to use.
As for the poll, I voted above average; I think I can pull off a good shot
