questions about mics

So i just got a new mic, but everytime i talk into while playing ut3 it doesn't work.is there a button i have to press in game to allow the mic to work?

does the mic communication needs to be specifically enabled on the server, and is there any way to check for that?

i think mic use is enables on all servers, and yes press button "b" and talk into your mic to send voice messages.

*note* You have to hold down the button as long as you want your voice to be transmitted. Its push-to-talk not voice-activated.

You also see picture of a mic on left side on the screen when you keep key pressed.

btw, when someone is talking does game anyhow some how who is talking? Like when some bot takes orb, screens left side shows bots picture and you hear "I got a orb". It's so rare to hear anyone talking and I havent really payed attention that I dont know.

Voice chat hasn't been working lately. On my own server in a private game it always worked until a couple weeks ago. Nothing was changed in server settings. I haven't had it work on other servers either. It's been suggested that it is yet another Gamespy problem since it all goes through their system. If anyone has an explanation or solution it would be welcome.

I don't think the mic works very well at all. Whenever I hear anyone using it via UT3, it's usually distorted and too loud. Painfull to hear. Not sure why.

When it worked, it worked very well for me.
