UT3 - Linux Support

What's happening regarding Linux support for Unreal Tournament 3? I bought the game not to long ago on the basis that Epic have always said Linux support would be coming, but now things seems a lot more uncertain?

Why are things taking so long? No one can possibly say that there is no demand. This definitely a title we know that the Linux community is dying to see.

I have always been a huge fan of the Unreal Tournament series, so far I've bought them all. I always loved the way Epic would provide Linux support (UT2004 is something I play on a regular basis), but I'm starting to worry Epic are worrying more about their profits than their fans?

I hope to play UT3 soon, I don't want to have to return it.

Unfortunately, the only response you will get from Epic is "We're working on it" and a closed thread. This game is just about the only reason I still run windows.

Epic should start invest more on Linux. It isn't one man's job porting this game, it takes much more than that. HIRE MORE PPL PLEASE WHO COULD HELP GORDON!

LINUX is an open source operating system. HERE IS THE WIKIPEDIA page for you... next time search for yourself instead of wasting our time being off topic...

I do wish I had news for you, but unfortunately I don't.

As far as I know it is still a project in development. I'll try to find out today if that is still the status and let you know.

They can't do "only" a linux final patch for server since 8 month.
So, sorry but i think you can forget to play ut3 on linux (it's just my opinion)...

The problem is before ut3 is retail, they announced a "future" support of linux. I know many people who buy the game when they read that. It's propably better to specify at customers "perhaps in 2 years" lol. The guys who paid it for play on linux, are litlle desperate now ^^

But yes, an official post on the status of the linux version will be much appreciate.
And be crazy Flak an official answer too for know if a day we can use normally our linux servers we rent since 8 month for support your game ...

Yeah, and a final 1.3 too.... It's long (and expansive to rent servers for nothing) now !

But isn't the topic for that. We wait news for the support of linux game (also server-side offcourse lol). ^^
