PS3 Unreal Tournmanet questions

1) Does anyone play this game on the PS3? Im looking for servers with players on any gametype and that max number I've seen is maybe 6 people on a server.


Please tell me there are more players than that playing this game!


2) Is my problem because I'm not playing on the latest version of the game? I thought the PS3 automatically looks for the latest versions for games and if you aren't running it, it prompts you to download it. Which I did, but I'm still not sure if it was the 2.0 patch and the Titan Pack. So I am downloading both right now. Am I wasting my time?

I've seen quite a lot of players recently, but because the US already has the titan pack and the EU does not yet, there is a gap now because of them playing new maps and modes ect. No I wouldnt say your wasting your time.

Thanka for the reply man. Im just really excited to finally be using a keyboard and mouse again since I had to quit PC gaming cause I can't afford to keep my rig up to date.


This game is my only saving grace to still play with a mouse and keyboard.

I got my PS3 online about a month ago and have been playing UT3 non stop - I've never been short of servers or players tbh. There does seem to be a few dedicated servers where people seem to congregate aswell as just individuals that play a few games now and then.

I wouldn't say you're wasting your time at all, it's brilliant fun! Look out for me online!

I think the biggest problem stems from the fact that there are no Offical Midway/Epic servers. How can you possibly have a game that is meant to be played online with absolutely no Offical servers is beyond me. If it weren't for the few community members that have been paying out of their own pockets for the past couple of months, this game would be absolutely dead. I hope/think Epic should write a big thank you to these community members for keeping their product alive.

Although I apreciate the community hosted servers, I don't see the (temporary) lack of official servers stopping you from playing. I mean, it's very simple: multiplayer-->host--> host what you like. Very simple.

PC community has been doing it for over a decade, the better servers are typically always community hosted servers. Since the servers can be hosted on PC now I don't see why you cant host them in datacenters like most good PC servers are.

RoadKill, I'm not familar with data centers, but don't you have to rent/pay for those servers

If so, thats my point, why does the community have to front the bill to support this game? Why can't/won't Epic launch any offical UT3 servers? Don't get me wrong, I love UT3 and have been playing it from its launch date on the PS3, even with the laundry list of issues that we've had.

I've never played any of the PC versions of Unreal series (mostly because I can't afford to keep up with the ever changing PC requirements to play the latest and greatest games at a decent rate), so maybe thats why my point of view is a bit jaded.

Unfortunately for me, my ps3 wireless connection isn't that great either. I can only host a server of about 3 other people without any major lag issues.

i see plenty of people playing depending on the time you get on im usually playing Duel or CTF once a while ill play DM if i decide to go kill some noobs and laugh about it but out of all serious i usually see a full server or two in every mode

I host a server at specific times. My connection isn't the best, but it's good enough for 16 players without too much lag when on Dedicated. I usually host it on monday from 10 am to 3 pm, Tuesday 6 pm to 10 pm and Wednesday on 10 am to 3 pm.
