    Two question

    Hi!
I'm a huge fan of UT3 that has just found my way to this forum

I have a couple of questions that I hope can be answered.

    1. I want all desaturation effects in the game to be turned off, just like in the Color Control mutator. The problem is, that with the CC mutator I can only get it in Instant action. I also want it in the campaign and, especially, online. The maps looks SO much better then
Is there some ini file I can change to achieve this? And will it in that case work in MP?

    2. I want to have one custom mp3 file to replace all music in UT3. The music in UT is great, but the one in Crysis is better
So is there any way I can tell the game to play a specific file all the time, rather than having to play this file externally in the background instead?

    Hi and welcome!

1: The only thing I can think of is to Uncheck the "Enable Bloom and Depth of Field" in the advanced settings menu.

    2: I'm pretty sure that's not possible.

      Hi and welcome!
Thanks! I'm sure I'll like this place

1: The only thing I can think of is to Uncheck the "Enable Bloom and Depth of Field" in the advanced settings menu.
But then I won't have any bloom neither any Depth of Field... I want only the desaturation deactivated...
Torlan: Necris looks 1000x better with no desat

      2: I'm pretty sure that's not possible.
So I can't extract some music file in the UT3 folder, change the tracks, then compress it again, in any way?

Hehe, yeah I agree, Torlan Necris is beautiful like that. I however, don't know of any way of disabling desaturation online.

Offline, I always use this command: set postprocessvolume settings (bloom_scale=0.15, scene_desaturation=0.13, DOF_MaxNearBlurAmount=0.1, DOF_MaxFarBlurAmount=0.21)") Hell, I have it bound to a key.

On the music: I wouldn't know about that, sorry.

Crysis and Crysis Warhead has the best music made in ever game, in my opinion
It's so beautiful... it feels just like you've playing through a movie...

The music I want to use is the Hovercraft Pursuit theme from Warhead - it fits so beautiful with UT and makes the game really epic

I however, don't know of any way of disabling desaturation online.
            Hmm, why not online?

Hell, I have it bound to a key.
Yeah, me too But it works only on Instant Action

Don't know what bump rules there are here, but I'm bumping this - do anyone has any suggestion how to solve my problems. Nr. 2 is not very important but Nr.1, well, it would do so much

Unfortunately the first one is simply not possible unless Epic adds it into the UI, or allows said console command online.

                  Ok.
Could anyone tell me what file the UT3 music is stored in? I mean, it must be stored somewhere

Look for the A_Music_*.upk files in C:\Program Files (x86)\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\CookedPC\Sounds

You're going to have to figure out how to import from a sound file into a .upk file in the editor, and hope that anti-cheating mechanisms don't bother with the music files (which seems probable.) I know that UT2004/UT3 support .ogg, so if you have trouble importing mp3s, conversion may be the key.

to convert MP3 to OGG you can use Audacity

you can also import WAV files

the issue is how to tell the game to play you're package instead of the normal ones

Converting is no problem - my music already is in OGG format

Hmm, I can extract the music from the game, and replace it. Two problems remain though.
                        1. How to compress it again?
                        2. Will this work online?
