The Purgatory is reopened for business

I am pleased to announce the return of one of the more popular PC servers for UT3 - Purgatory.

In ut2k4, the Purgatory (hosted by the Resurrection clan) was the common place to TDM pub using as close to competitive settings as practical. It was very popular and we want to re-live this for UT3. So in time for the free weekend, Stik and I put this server up. Here are some stats:

Redeemer is replaced with an assault rifle
Patched to 2.0 (of course)
Maplist is still in flux
Friendly Fire will eventually be on but given this weekend we think it's wise to leave it off for now

Is 5v5 TDM standard? In ut99, which I played a lot, 4v4 was the norm.

4v4 is standard for competition, yes. But so is voice communication, strategy and 100% friendly fire. This is still a pub that just happens to cater to the competitive crowd.

You won't be seeing Biohazard, Darkmatch or Walkers around Now if I can just figure out how to lose the spider mines and Xray field because that one map that uses them otherwise seems very good.

competitve pubs for somereason always been 5v5 for TDM, and 6v6 for CTF since ut99.
I guess is acceptable and at the same time gives 2 more spots for new players. I remember back in the day how hard it was to try to get a spot on some of these servers. you'd had to stay spectating for several games before you be let in. Zooz, siwnonline for ctf, The prugatory, and the factory for TDM.
