Um... Is the Friends function broken?

How do I add friend requests? I ran into another old pal from UT2k4 on the Greed server and we both added each other but have no idea how to accept each other's requests... ...not a very intuitive system...

If you have sent the friend request, go into Community from the main menu, there you can find friends and accept his request, then send the friend invite to him to make sure it sticks.

lol it's rather stupid idd...luckily, if you have the game on steam, you can use the steam-friends-system and add ppl there/join them from there.
