New vote menu is awesome for admins! Thanks Epic!

I got the new voting menu working on my server and dialed it in. The new UTMaplist.ini and UTVote.ini are much easier to deal with.

The in-game vote interface is fantastic! It took me a couple times to figure out what it was doing and when it would transfer the map lists but it's great. It is so awesome to have gametype voting again. And it looks like you can create custom gametypes like UT2004. And being able to vote for mutators is totally sweet!!

It also looks like the UTMaplist.ini is keeping track of the number of times a map has been played. I can bring back my top ten map list for my website like I had in UT2004!!

    HUGE THANK YOU EPIC!!!

I have to second this! It was a vary nice move by epic to opt Spectators out of the vote because all too often in the first three patches the spectators would just vote the other way and make endless ties to keep the map they liked going.

Major Props to Epic for the new server code as well and the lack of lag!

I wasn't looking too hard, but I did have that enabled in the ini and didn't see anything obvious at the moment.

I feel like a spectator, with no intention of playing, should never vote. It seems.... impolite or something.

For the fraggers who have the map voting up and running their servers...any tips on how to get this running properly? I installed it late last night and ran a few tests to sort out how the new file structure is supposed to work. I agree that it's a BIG step up.

Problem is...the voting interface looks great, but I don't seem to be able to get the voting running right. I have gametype, mutator, and map voting all set to "true" and the map list and mutator list populated. When I test out the voting though, the "gametype" is populated, but the mutator and map are blank.

I'm still working with it, but any tips would be appreciated.

I was having the same issue BoneDaddy. The problem is that if you are the only one in the server you cannot complete the vote by yourself with the default settings in the UTVote.ini.

                  change these options:
MidGameVotePercentage=30 (I think anything under 50% will work)
                  MinMidGameVotes=1

then once your vote has passed for the gametype you will see the map list and muts pop up.

                  hope this helps

If you have your own server, just install utweb admin. It goes all the setup for you, you just need to turn it on in "Vote". A lot easy than editing config files.

I was able to get everything running sweet with Steve Polge's post:

I haven't had a chance to play too much with it, but is the small picture of the map now gone? I recall last I played I didn't see it and I kinda miss it. With the new maps (and customs) I can't always recall what the name was for each map and the small pictorial helped that.
