    Binding Weapon Throw

    Hi

I was wondering how to bind weapon throwing to my mousewheel-tilt-right. Using a Logitech RX300. Not sure how to name that button.

    Bindings=(Name="MouseButton?",Command="ThrowWeapon")

I was actually looking for weapon throw in the input area of settings and while there are a lot of new key settings, I didn't see weapon throw in there.

...Is it something that isn't available in the game that I have to add to the input.ini?

Yea I didn't see a weapon throw key either, however in the Patch 2 final changelist specifically says under

      Weapons:
      - Weapon throwing always enabled.

The very top thread is Sticky: [PC] Keybinding Tutorial

          Maybe see that?

Yeah but it doesn't tell you what to name the mouse buttons.

try to bind your fire or any other action to that button and read what it says then copy it to where you want it to be... don't forget to unbind it after that

Yeah, I was expecting it to be in the ingame UI but I guess they forgot it or something.

Ok well, I still haven't got weapon throwing to work (apparently mousewheel tilt right is = "Right"- the arrow key), however I did notice WeaponStay is off on default?? And the WeaponRespawn mutator has no effect on gameplay since the weapons are already like that.

First bind that key to any action from the (Game>> Settings> Input>> Keys)

i.e bind that key to (Fire).. and then check your UTInput.ini file and see what's the name of that button in the file then set the fire button back to the left mouse or whatever button you use and continue your work

Doesn't the patch make weapon throw useless now that it has the new weapon spawn system?

All the servers I played on today have this new "no weapon stay for self" system. For example: pickup flak at a spawn point and it disappears only for you. other players still see the flak and can pick it up. 30-40 secs after you take a weap it respawns and you can run over it for more ammo.

Pickup a fragged players weapon and you can still pick up the same weapon for more ammo at the spawn point.

Best thing about the patch for me.

I'm not sure. I can still see uses for weapon throwing, especially in TDM. Plus, juggling your weapons in the air is a fun thing to do during long periods of overtime in VCTF.

I must say, I'm elated at the fact that I don't have to suicide to get more AVRiL missiles! \o/

You have to open the console (in game) - F10.
The you type setbind key throwweapon.
I used f as key, just use any free key

Hmm yea I was noticing that weapon stay was off on default, but I didn't know it was "no weapon stay for self".

What made it confusing for me that in the Patch 2 changelist it said Weapon Throwing is always on.

Anyways, weapon throwing would be useless now so there would be no point for me binding it anymore.

Seems my solution is not the best because you will always have to type it again.
Write it into the UTInput.ini (see the keybinding thread).
