Ok I see that it's overkill and an hassle, but I can't you access the filesystem with a Linux installation?

If you are really hardcore you can connect the drive to a PC and use a disk editor

I have posted about this bug before... on several occasions I have joined rooms where the bug you described has been in effect (slightly invisible players) and as far as I know the players were not using custom skins (I know cause I asked several of the players once, as they were in my friends list).

And also, they reported back to me that I was also partially invisible. I don't use any custom content or mods so I'd put it down to the server, or just a glitch... it does happen.

...anyway I carried on playing as I thought it looked pretty cool just seeing a little mask floating around. It didn't make the game any easier or harder in my opinion...

If you restart the game any bans should be lifted, which could be a window for abuse for some players? ... as we, PS3 players, do not have access to ini files maybe something like that could be added in the next patch?

It's easy to uninstall stuff on a blu ray, it only takes a few seconds in a microwave oven, reinstalling it is the tricky part...

I think your'e right about just closing the room, it didn't seem like anything was written to the PS3's disk when I did the ban.

    Thanks,

Unfortunately, the PS3's filesystem is closed and there is no way for people to access individual files. The only way to get rid of a file is to completely uninstally the game and then reinstall it. I'd really hate to have to do that...

    Thanks,

If it works the same as on the PC, then his unique ID is stored in your UTGame.ini. You would have to manually remove it. Surely there is a way you can access the .ini files? Or, if you could somehow delete the config file, UT3 would then replace it with a default.

When you ban through the game on the PC, it only bans the unique ID. So if it's the same, he could always just use a different name.

Removing a ban on the PS3

Last night when I was hosting a match on a PS3, one player's character was invisible except for his facemask. I kicked him but he rejoined so I then kicked and banned him.

He says he didn't know he was invisible. He changed his character and deleted the custom character pack he was using.

Now I want to unban him, but I couldn't find any way to do it. I've searched the forums and the only instructions I found were for the PC version, not the PS3, and those won't work because there's no way to access the .ini files.

So, my questions are: 1) How do you remove a ban on the PS3, and 2) Is the ban permanent or does it go away when you stop hosting?

    Thanks,

    nerd3 (aka nerd33)
