Irc?

hey guys,
Can anyone explain me how IRC works or post a link to a site that explains it? (as most people playing UT3 communicate via IRC channels)

Europe and America operate on different networks, i believe NA is on gamesurge and EU is on the Quakenet network.

You can download mIRC from - http://www.mirc.com/get.html - Which has servers for many networks already set up.

Or you could download UT3IRC, a customized mIRC with channels set in it already, and it's much easier to learn with - http://www.fileplay.net/file/1723/ut3-irc-v2 - Although i do believe some of the EU channels are incorrect.

eu chan's are mainly #ut3 #ut.duell and for pickups #mpukut3.duel and #mpukut3.tdm and #levi.pickup

I tried #mpukut3.vctf and #mpukunreal.vctf and they were empty

If I join a channel (EU) I can chat to everyone in the channel?

We used to run a vCTF pickup although it was unactive and as a result we closed it.

We have open at the moment #mpukut3.bta .tdm .duel .warfare

With the patch and titan pack we will have #mpukut3.greed and .betrayal too! Hope to see some people hop into those.

And yes in a channel everyome in the user list can see what you type. If you wish to talk to one person you can PM them by double clicking their name or right clicking and select Query
