Can you ps3 users and Pc users play with each other?

I have an idea.
Let's pretend that there's an expansion coming out for both the PC and consoles.
Let's also pretend that PC and console players will probably never have to play each other.
Now we can pretend that there isn't an issue.
Because there isn't.

Believe it or not, Seeing as you do in fact have a mouse, keyboard, monitor and tower, you could probably get what I have, or better for less then what a console and a huge HDTV costs. I put out around 500 to 600 dollars for my current PC. It's over a year old and still plays every game on max detail at a smooth FPS.
I have a 360 here that I hardly use, because any game that comes out for both, I get it for the PC. Not only does it run way smoother and at a higher FPS, but can also have higher res textures and just looks better. If you just don't like the m/kb combo, nothing is stopping you from hooking up a PS3, or 360 controller to your PC and using that. Lots of games for the PC seem to be coming out with full support for game pads.
PS3 and 360 games also costs an average of 10 dollars more per game.

actually i have a laptop that cant run ut3 and my monitor and tower is at my parents house i never brought it over here to where i live now....and yes you are correct building a new comp will cost less then my ps3 and tv...but... i like watching nice HD movies on my HDTV hence why i bought it haha pretty much the same with my playstation... like i said previously... consoles have games they pc does not..that was my main purpose of buying my consoles i enojoyed playing my final fantasy games (not emulated) and i enjoyed playing my MGS games i enjoyed playing lunar silver star story complete and the Mana games i used to enjoy playin socom (until they screwed that up hardcore style lol)... these games are not pc games they are console games so sure when a game i enjoyed playing on pc came to ps3 (yes UT) of course i bought it but the way i see it...the game is the same thing yes pc version has a few differences then the console but its the same game.... its not superior its not inferior its the same game you guys are saying oh yes the speed or yes the hit boxes but thats why ps3 supports mods we can change the speed as for hitboxes no..but try to escape any weapon on the ps3 its ALOT harder then the pc obviously since the HB is bigger

i have both versions, and honestly the ps3 version is funner for me, i dont know its because ive adjusted or what, but when i go back on pc and play games like quake and quake live, they feel fluid and smooth. but ut3pc just doesnt feel right to me.

as far as both versions ever being compatible it wouldnt work, tailsnake made a very good point, the hitboxes are by far the biggest diffrence, lets not forget the annoying *** aim assist.

anyhow i play ut3 on ps3 because the community is there, the clans are there, the clan battles are there, and on top of all that the game just feels alot tighter and responsive even with the ps3's half *** mouse support, the pc version just seems so off, and like i said it might just be because ive adjusted.

yea to me theres always been a diffrence in computer games and console games, a console game is something like god of war, a computer game is something like command and conquer, the nice thing about a ps3 is you get those AAA console games, but now we are also getting really decent versions of classic PC style games.

i seriously cannot wait for the next deathmatch shooter in the same vein of ut/quake to hit the ps3, i really hope they do as good of a job as epic has on this one.

the speed can easily be changed on consoles for you to put 2 points as if your trying to make a big point about it ..kinda pointless honestly and it doesnt help you out at all... and for the people who constantly keep saying playing kb/m on console is stupid its like buyin a poor mans pc..or did you ever think of the possibility that the console A console not just ps3 but ANY console has plenty of games the pc does not have HENCE WHY WE HAVE A CONSOLE miskell is again correct what is the point of having to spend x amount of money upgrading your pc just to play 1 game or a few games... ok i am 20 years old and i have my own life to live i have a daughter and i have my bills to pay i dont have time to constantly spend money upgrading my pc its not poor mans pc its some people have more responsibilities then others so others have to spend more money then others i for one got the ps3 release month i did not buy it just to play ut3 i bought it cause ive been a sony fan for a while not only that but at the time it was one of the cheapest blu ray players also...again im sure most of us has bought a ps3 for other purposes

ps3 users love the mods, and noone is trying to take credit away from anyone, they are all excited to have something like that on a console.

there are plenty of ps3 players that also have pcs and the pc version, there is no reason to be upset because people prefer the ps3,

it runs the game perfect, the UI is simple and effective, and on pc i play in lowest graphics anyways because its the best way to play competetively so why does it matter what system i use? i prefer the one that acctually has a ctf and tdm base

Im more offended by the thought of making something for a group of people I would never play against. Sure they are excited about the idea of free content but not the thought of making it. The concept of console mods and crossplatform play is more of a parasite for PC gaming then a saviour to it.

why does it offend you? arent you making the content for people to enjoy? there are people on the ps3 that do make mods and mutators, i remember i use to make quake 1 maps, i certaintly wouldnt of cared if they were being played on nintendo64.

console gaming is what it is, its been around for pretty much as long as pc gaming, and cross platform play isnt gonna kill the pc, people buy pcs for alot more reasons then for gaming.

Crossplatform, consoles, modding, pirates, cheating and PC gamers will never kill PC gaming, but developers are sure suppressing it.

Its more about exchange in content and infomation and sharing ideas with people with similar intrest, Its there for them to enjoy. I cant possibly see this in the console community because the majority have no intrest in this.

And remember, it was the console that crashed the games industry in 1983.

I'm a big Command and Conquer fan. Red Alert 3 for PS3 here soon with possible mouse support. Can't wait.
