question about hosting

possibly a stupid question. i am trying to host an xbox live multiplayer game with a few friends but i cant seem to take part in the match myself. am i doing something wrong?

Deticade^^

You cant play when you deticade (i dont know if i spelled it right) the server.

You have to undeticade it then you can play too.
