locked thread after simple question ?

didn't take long to lock the thread regarding any update or explanation of expansion...

a simple "we're working on it" or "no immediate plans" would have been nice.

I don't think it's fair to lock thread when Epic is the one that announced the "Great Expansion", we invested alot of money in this game and have been very patient with fixes, so when you make a "Great Announcement", it would be appropriate to follow it up with some type of explanation !

by locking the thread, I realize you take away any criticism of Epic, but I think Epic owes us a lot more empty promise !

Epic never made an announcement that I heard of. The information about an expansion is a one sentence quote taken from a private e-mail sent to the mods at BeyondUnreal. IIRC. Don't assume, it makes an a$$ out of u and me.

while I agree the statement below came from an email, you can't tell me that it wasn't intended or expected to be "leaked", so I stand by my above statement without fear of making an a$$ of myself !

"our arrangement with Midway isn't a license but rather a straight publishing agreement and Midway is still very much the publisher of Unreal Tournament 3. In fact, we're working together on a major expansion to Unreal Tournament 3, that we expect will excite and grow our UT3 customer base which incidentally, now numbers over a million units sold-through world-wide."

So far, no release plans or dates have been set. Will this be a retail package or a free download? Only time will tell.

Well, Epic has been treating their customers and the forum members in particular like idiots for quite some time...

The way threads are closed whenever someone mentions the linux client is not only ridiculous but insulting when it ends with something like "it was fun while it lasted"...

I used to be a sucker for Epic's games, but I was completely thrown off by their business options, hipocrisies and lies of late. It's a shame, and you'll probably think im paranoid or just whining, but it is how i feel about Epic and these forums.

I don't show up here very often anymore and just when i decided to read it i see a thread like this, it says it all really.

Midway doesn't think very much of the PC player base. If they're working together, I wonder how this is going to turn out.
