I can understand that having newbies on WAR can be annoying because of the Orb. IMHO it's the mindset that should change, but nevermind, let's forget that for a moment.

But on DM you don't depend on anyone. On CTF it's not common for a newbie to hurt gameplay. There's no picking up the Orb, grabing an important vehicle or being an easy frag on TDM.

Online player count would improve a lot. And at least with DM and CTF, noob bashing is uncommon

Edit: Hey, you were the one that invited me to play DOM! Sure, we can arrange that, 1 vs 1, 1 vs 1 vs bot, 2, 3 or 4 teams, etc... I've seen 2 or 3 servers already, and played yesterday... against bots.

Hey hey, no wonder people fresh to the game dont wanna play, your all acting like they have a virus and need to stay away..

I know it can be frustrating, but if a few of us take the time to teach new players a few tricks, help them setup thier game and have a little patience, we might just see the servers filling up again.. Any noob bashers don't deserve to enjoy thier game if thier not willing to lend a helping hand now and then. Wheres the community spirit gone?

The only thing n00bs do in DM is die alot. Just makes the scores faster.

It's the team games that total n00bs have an effect. They need to practice offline for team games and spectate online matches to learn.

Uhm, no? If it's not a clan match (and with noobs in it, it shouldn't be) it doesn't effin' matter who wins, play for fun and let anyone, no matter how good or how n00b they are, enjoy the game.

Nice to see someone wanting to introduce players to the game, instead of rolling over us. I bought the game some weeks ago and only played 1 or 2 satisfying matches (played around 10 times between TDM, WAR and CTF).
Veterans I found on the servers do not like to balance games os using voip/chat for commanding others, I feel all gamemodes are Deatchmatch, people playing alone with no sense of team, it's pretty boring for me.
The arrogance of most veterans hurts the game a lot.
I bought this game because I saw lots of potential, variety of gamemodes, easy to create mods and maps with the tools provided, not so high computer requirements...

Peeps, I was thinking about something else when I decided to post !! You call it an "eye-catcher" title or something like that It has got nothing to do with DM and CTF per se. It's just because those may be the game types less influenced by unknown players of whatever skill level.

It's usual for old timers to hang around IRC and arrange PUGs. Or arrange scrims in advance, etc... As an example let's assume that there are 12 or 13 guys available. Instead of going to a private server, just pick a 14 or 16p public server. It doesn't matter, just choose a low ping one. There are lots of them available at any time and location, only use the private one otherwise.

Make sure there is 1 free slot per team, or a few for DM. So there can be now extra players, some guys come and spectate. You start leaving when you wish, random players join, and the server is now active.

so, in my spare time, off work, after some top or reeb, i go warm up by playing in campaign matches at random. kind of interesting to catch people and help them with the support they might not get from their bots. maybe tell em a few things about the map, or about their movement. ask if they have any good jokes. talk about vehicles.learn to tow hoverboarders/teamates,without losing in pub so to speak. you know, game. have fun. seriously, i bounced teancum off the ground a couple of times today, abusing bots, online...

Pretty sure every time a DM veteran plays in a PUB people just whine that he cheats when he wins without dying once. PUB rhymes with nub.
