ive never seen so many servers in any ut predeccesors where such tons of bots are configured. if i want to fight bots i can do it offline but online they are always ruining the game. i think most ppl agree here. imo the best solution is 1 bot so someone can join a server and do some fighting till other ppl join.

I think it maybe because theres only a few people plaing UT3 online so at least they have something to do while they wait for others.
I play instagib ctf so you can imagin, theres not many if any sometimes. Most people wont join a server if no1 is already on a playing, but i'll join my fav insta servers and wait for people, sometimes upto an hour! lol.. Anyhow, i'd much rather play a few bots online and get some practice while I wait for real players, and the some of the servers I play on the bots leave when real players join.

I never join empty servers even if the ping is absolutely perfect. I don't want to have nothing to do on a map.
Even maps with only 1 player on them are sometimes empty because the guy waited himself and has gone afk and when you find him he stands somewhere and then you kill him and he doesn't respawn and you're all alone again.
When there are bots on the server you at least have some action even of nobody is playing. The only downside is that they are mostly a) TOO MANY (3 to 4 are enough; I always configure 3 when I host) and b) configured on average difficulty and that's too easy...

The only time I like to have a bot on, is purely for team balance mostly. And even then, only 1 is required at any one time. So if the bot skill is moderate, it doesn't cause any real problems.
