Is it worth it?

I've been playing the Unreal series since the first one. These are the only video games I've played for any significant amout of time without getting tired of them. Yes of course I'm going to tell you it's worth it.

I don't buy very many PC games, but I always buy a new UT as soon as it's out. $50 is totally worth it to me, so I think $30 is a steal.

Voted yes, but only the PC version is worth the full price. You get the content(Free), plus the editor, plus high quality dedicated servers, plus better graphics, etc... Could give alot more reasons, but everyone should get my drift.

Also, you can buy the pc version for $19 , so even if you find out it was a waste of money, you wouldn't have lost a lot anyhow

The only reason I play so much is the fact that there is online play. Otherwise I doubt I would play video games.. The community aspect of it all is what I love. Hence why I asked this question.

got the PC and PS3 version and play them both daily!! Have got other games since i purchased UT3 and i keep going back to it!!

Not worth it at all, imo.
If you liked UT2004, you'll absolutely HATE the consolized UT3.
Warfare maps are fairly small compared to UT2004's ONS maps and vehicle handling is atrocious... they all basically have instant turning.
Weapons feel like UT99's, which isn't too bad since I liked UT99.
But, I only bought the game for warfare and CTF, and it's disappointing on both fronts.

The player numbers speak for themselves, there's thousands playing UT2004 and only about 400+ playing UT3.

Luckily, I only paid $20 for it so I don't feel completely ripped off.

In this case, I would have to agree with xlucidx.
Finding a populated server, even when the master browser is working, is difficult to say the lease. I do like the UT99 weapons but that's about it. I fell that too many things were left half *** and never finished with the game and that UT3 has forever killed the UT legacy it once was. If you talk to the dedicated original UT99 players, they all agree that this one did UT in.
I don't know about console however, it may be worth it.

I said "No" Just because it's in need of more patching and doesn't have a big enough player base. But buy it because I want more people to play.

They really did drop the ball on the interface though, the server browser is HORRIBLE.
They sold out to the consoles and the PC base is basically an after thought.

if you read the post replies you'll see that most have been split between love and hate. Which gives me a good idea of how I'm going to like the game.
