    Props To The Online Community

I just wanted to say that I've been playing this game since the first day it came out, (i think i was the only guy at the store to buy it first thing am) and the difference in the calibur players is like night and day. getting kills used to be a total joke, but i think the halo turds have been weeded out.

another thing i've noticed while lurking here is that there's a lot of noise made around here about the lack of online community, but i disagree. yes, there aren't nearly as many people as there SHOULD be for a game this good, but there's always enough to fill a room up -- really thats all that matters.

but back to the original point.. you guys have really improved as a community and it's really competitive and i'm having more fun with the game then ever. the progress in skill isn't a good for the noobs, but the ones who hold out, eventually find that it's worthwhile.

Explain where you see this competition. I don't see many clans, where do you see them?

thanks for toughing out that breakin period this game has. you've found it worth while, and that's the good stuff. continue to enjoy, and hope to see you out there.

Name them. Saying "not meaning to be rude" does not give you a free-snarky-remark pass. As far as competition, it looks like there are only 4-5 clans, where there could be at least 10, but the population is unwilling to step up to the competition. I do not call this competitive.

stay in a room long enough and it will fill up 60% of the time, every time.

Its funny how many of the competetive players who were planning on playing this game are still available in irc. If pugs start happening multiple times daily, you'll know when this game has a true active community.

@Moloko- problem is, you dumb it down to a point, it becomes TOO easy. There is a fine balance, and imho it went from one end of the spectrum to the other.

Well atleast we don't have that problem with UT3 compared to UT2k4. UT3 is harder than 2k4
99 is still most difficult of all.

Depends what you mean by harder, harder for noobs to to get kills on even the best, through spam? no way imho.

Most think UT3 seems like a case of FPS game evolution moving 2 steps backwards; we lost standard 2k4 features, features that are only now being slowly reinstated. Online the game suffers slowdowns and choppy play when a server fills, we have all manner of other regular hitches like the duplicate login issue. Plus overall there is the general nagging sense that epic's desire was, to make everyone from skilled to noob a whole lot more equal by lowering the bar and making an easy kill, cheaper and often unavoidable.

As an experienced player, you could confidently approach/take out 6 or 7 players grouped together in UT2004(using various dodge /shock moves) Glued to the spot in UT3- me v 4 minigunning noobs, I'm a gonna fail for sure.Plus the faster manta speed and the non registering hits (with various weapons) often make for a frustrating death/respawn cycle that makes me feel too noobish. I know epic said they wanted carnage -but carnage doesn't sit with skill very easy.

lol thanks I laugh at this cause it was so random I remember playing with you a few times my memory doesnt serve me any good though right now I'm drunk and getting annoyed with the online community right now cause all these people keep picking the same map over and over BUT I do remember playing a few games with you lol

IMHO alot of people in this game either are to shy or something to use a mic if they have one I dont find anything wrong with how things are now but it would be nice to have more people more active on the mics I play alot of deathmatch cause I dont have to depend on a team but that still doesnt mean I dont appreciate others joking around with me in a game. I do not mean annoying little kids mic hogging making stupid chewbaca noises like the other night, serious though if you people have mics speak up in a room I'm only a jerk 98% of the time lol j/p

Then UT99 is also more noob friendly, the bar is lower, kills were cheaper and easier ...

i blame the fact that people are ****ting themselves as soon as a custom map is played - they don't even try the download.
