UT3 Patch 1.4 Request Thread

    The other members already said important things.

    I also want bug fixes for the hoverboard bug and the manta crouch exploit.

    Manta crouch exploit:
    Simply shoot your manta into the water, go in the manta and take it.
    You will be under water, can fly and don't lose any hp.

    Hoverboard bug:
    If you run against some (not all) objects like walls and press Q for the hoverboard, then you make a huge jump backward.
    (Around 30 metres or so - difficult to say an exact value)
    I won't post screenshots yet...

    And the player names in server browser work very rarely...

    P.S. And yes, I use version 1.3.

      Please fix duel mode (Lan play) the other play looks like the demo guy and dies as his reguler model.

      Please add Voice support to lan local hosting servers so that others that do not have microphone can here you.

      I have noticed that the bots when they taunt they allways do the animation like you hit v then go to taunt thats kind of anoying to see after a while after every kill.
      why cant the game just taunt with out animations?

      when player 1 kills player 2 player 2 sees his avatar picture but player 1 is unable to see his avatar picture but heres the taunt.

      More phys-x maps please ^_^ but have it optimized for better fps if thats posible.

      Lan server browser issues unable to see dedicated lan games or local games must resort to typing open 192.168.0.1 console command to connect to host computer.

      I noticed the same thing in gears of war for the pc but the open command does not work ;/

      one last thing.

      Game really requires a spectator option for lan tournaments when you are playing for prizes O_o it sucks having every one hide behind you and breething down your neck as you try and win the bawls.

          Theres a Lot of pages to read so i admit, i didn't read past like page 5. So here is what i would like to see in V1.4
          - Actual Character that you have Created being used when you join a game from being a Spectator, instead of spawning as Demo Guy
          - Up Deathmatch Total Frags Required to End the Match in the Menu to 100 (Same for TDM)
          - Add Vehicle Entry Protection to Suspense lower Spawn Areas to stop Manta campers (like the protection on the Upper spawn area)
          - When the "Player" Taunts show their name and portrait, instead of only seeing other players
          - Allow for Third Person Viewing, like In UT2k4
          - Allow for Change Password on Login Screen
          - Allow for Change UserName on Login Screen (but like you can only change once a year or something)
          - A Quicker way of sending messages similar to like what Steam has (for those that bought Unreal Tournament from Shops rather than Steam itself)
          - An Option to Mute players Mic's (if there isnt already one, didnt check)

            Multiplay/Midway VCTF Server #4 just crashed (6h00 GMT p.m.) at map VCTF-Suspense when round ended (just when remaining time reached 0:00), server was full (32 players). So i guess there is some an important issue to fix with servers (specially big servers). Maybe you should look into the logs of this server so you can find which issue it is and try to fix it for next patch.

              I think my explanation was a little bit unclear so I will explain it better now.
              (This time with screenshots).

              I post some screenshots of custom maps, because I don't want to show the bug on official maps because it is easy and only would destroy the gameplay.

              Important:
              It has nothing to do with the maps - it is a hoverboard problem.
              Of course it also works on plenty of other objects in official maps!

              1. You run against an object until you can't move forward.
              2. You press your hoverboard-key (standard Q)
              3. Now you needn't to do anything because you automatically fly backward many metres.

              It is NOT a map-related problem - it is a hoverboard problem.
              It works on any official maps, too

                Hi,

                concerning this thread: it would really be nice and effective to have a link to a compressed wish-list with statstics as it is almost impossible to read all 63 pages of this thread.

                I think UI and functions around the game are sufficient and not so important.

                What I really would like is voice-commanding of bots, as it could bring real tactical fun for two humans fighting against each other in warfare with bots...
                (in combination with ut a new genre could evolve)

                And I really miss dodge jump as it was one of the really amazing elements characterizing the degree of freedom in ut.

                  I'm fairly sure that this is the same as a bug that was spotted in the "beta demo", whereby if you're squeezed against a wall by a vehicle while on the hoverboard you are sent flying at ludicrous speed.

                  You can do it alone, without the cooperation of a driver, by parking a vehicle close enough to a wall that you can only just walk between them but can't fit a hoverboard in, positioning yourself facing perpendicular to the wall, then switching to the hoverboard.                   It appears to be a problem with the PhysX engine - if two objects are overlapping, they are pushed away with a force proportional to how much they overlap. If you can cause one object to be pushed right inside another, they fly apart really fast.

                    I've never experienced that Hoverboard problem but I'm guessing it might have something to do with the fact that as soon as you equip it, it appears slightly in front of your character. Found this out the hard way when I loaded up three rockets and as soon as I fired them, I took out the Hoverboard and all three rockets killed me. D: Since you're doing that up against a wall, you're probably just being bounced back because of the way the Hoverboard is spawned.

                    As for the dodge jumping: http://utforums.epicgames.com/showthread.php?t=585114 I liked it in UT2004 but I think it's unnecessary in UT3.

                        hi have that too when i fire 3 rockets and jump at my hoverboard i kill my self lol with costum model or with normal model

                          dodge jump: yes thanks there's a mutator. and there's a great hoverboard too. but dodge jump should be standard. hoverboard cannot replace dodge jump regarding dance partys in indoor "stairways".

                            how is it possible to destroy a vehicle with a sniper rifle or enforcers or a minigun? they're way too powerful against em.

                            players need to stand out of the map more (more vibrant colors for players) right now it looks like players are part of the architecture! now come on seriously!
