UT3 Patch 1.4 Request Thread

    when switching maps online, you receive messages that every player left and joined again. this should be removed (way to go, seamless map switch)

    fix the bug that the bottom players sometimes don't appear in the scoreboard

    and yes, fix demoguy
    textures should load when a new player joins. why else did you implement multiple threads for loading stuff, rendering, playing sound, etc.
    and what about "texture streaming"?

      I have a few requests.

      1. Player Alias support
      2. Proper support for ATI cards. My laptop is on ATI, and it's driving me mad
      3. ClearConfig() (I believe) I'm feeling really sorry for Sinx
      4. The barebones actors we need to make assault maps.
      5. UI support for custom gametypes, although I'm using mapmixer for this already.

        Turret bug that they are locked or enter does not work

        This problem still happens. Typically, from what I notice, it's the Torlan base turret, Downtown center node turret, and the tank node side Dusk base turret that have this problem. These are the ones I use the most. Usually, the Torlan base turret will not be in it's retracted spot by the ramp. In all cases, usually, you go up to enter, press E, and it's a no go. It just does not work. Sometimes it even shows it's locked. This bug used to happen at the Downtown turret all the time. I think one of the patches partly fixed it. But it still happens. When this happens at the base on Torlan, your pretty much screwed. I have seen this problem also on the torlan prime node turret.

        Turret placement on maps rant.
        The Torlan prime node turret really needs to be off the ground. Mounting turrets on the ground or behind obstructions is not very smart. I understand that you do not want to place them in too good of a place, but, anywhere you place them, they are open to attack from everything as well as sniper fire, so they do not tend to last very long.

          Add Kickvote: A very important feature for both players and admins (so they don't spend all their time on server to kick players with bad behaviour ...). A MinTimeBeforeKick option would be added so players wouldn't be able to kick someone who have just joined server/map before this minimum time is reached. (in order to prevent some "noobs" clans/groups to come to a server and just kick everyone).Or put a MinNumPlayerVotes option.
          Kickvote option is probably one of the most important new feature that would be added since a lot of players leave servers because no admins are there and some players are just having bad behaviour (taunts,teamkill,camp,...)

          Improve Mapvoting system:
          Improve Visibility:
          • decrease font-size for mapvoting (easy to implement i guess).
          • add ability to be able to scroll down map list without using forever mouse
            wheel (specialy for server with a lot of custom maps)


          Other
          • Put back (like in UT2004) a RepeatMinMapsDelay X option (so map being played cannot be voted again before playing X maps.

          Conclusion: make it like in was in UT2004

            i dont know if this exists since i haven't ever run a server but i would love an option to kick idle players automatically after a set amount of time, cause right now on my fav multiplay vctf server often teams get unbalanced because one has a lot of afks, and noone can change to the weaker team because there are already equal numbers of people on both teams.

              i wish it would be possible to shoot someone from the ground while feign death!!!!

                yeah that would be cool but it should be limited

                in the original UT you could load up the bio rifle and feign death, and release it while you're still on the ground

                  I've got a very simple request for the 1.4 patch :

                  -Implement back the modes "Mutant" and "Last Man Standing". This should cost almost no money (no maps to create), but It would be a welcome addition to the game, since UT3 lacks some variety in its game modes.

                  I suppose that some mods probably already allows people to play these game modes, but between having one or a few servers almost always empty full of custom content and a few servers with actual people ont it, there's a huge difference. Custom content is great, and I love some of the custom maps, but still, a huge part of the players just don't use it and stick to what is available from epic. So please...

                      I wouldn't mind seeing some of UnrealEngine 3.5's features implemented (Am I right be calling it 3.5?), such as crisper dynamic shadows, dynamic water, etc.

                        They should do it too, and it would be great. But for that, they would need a reason. Something like "if you do this, you can make a huge load of money because of that, and if you do that". Because epic needs to make money with what they do. And bringing back assault would be expansive.

                        They could do an expansion pack bringing back assault and other modes, along with new maps + a Stand-alone new UT3 with everything. With a good advertising campaign (including a few excellent trailers, like what they do for Gears of War), they could make a lot of money with it on the PC.

                              Wouldn't be possible to add something to use Unreal Tournament III as a benchmark, without using any third party tool?

                                Oh, I'd like to see an improved spectator mode (first person). I know, you can digit "behindview" in the console, but I'd like to see this feature exposed in the UI.
