This was kind of where I derived my idea from . Although another US vs EU would be fun I thought I'd organise something different in the spirit of the Euro 2008 tournament.

Because the organising on that was bigger by far, and when we looked into it before the answer came out as a no :[

If you want to play, you will need to get on IRC. Don;t worry thats an easy thing. Download UT3 IRC (In my sig) then join #Warfare2008 on quakenet. If not hop into #mpukunreal.warfare (in the list by default) and we'll point you the right way.

Right. But I'd imagine that it's still easier to get available players from two continents for one big match than players from eight countries to fill out a bracket.

I'd like to play, but I'm in the U.S. Maybe I can be a mercenary. Play for the country that gives me the best compliment or something.

I'm in ... However we should do it on WeekEnds - CET Evening times (I'm travelling most of the time, and I have a 3 Year old kid - so no playing @ Daytime)

yeah - but I'm pretty sure we could get many more console players to play against PC Gamers ... we just need to setup a server that allows both worlds to connect ...

How "no" ? What do you mean ?

The support from MP wasn't there to set it up. With this, we should be able to grab some of the smaller MP servers, and clan servers. Where as US v EU is harder that way.

Anyway, for now this thread is about EU v EU.

Since there is this thread, please explain me slowly why people can't play if they don't want to go through the hassle of obtaining UT3 IRC and joining #Warfare2008. How many people will not care about this? And what can you do there that you can't do here?

Every UT player has to have IRC anyways, if they want to do anything that is fun that is. If you don't wanna bother going through a simple installation of irc, why would they bother to let you in? IRC is a good way to keep the trash out.
