PS3 Warfare Maps -Reviewed by the mighty COKKENBALLS

I have had a chance to play on some of the new warfare maps in real combat, against great players. While I didn't get much of a chance to sight-see because I was getting owned by so many. I am able to put together some thoughts on the few I have been on.

    Shattered Ravines
-No, this is not the title of a movie on the Lifetime network. This map is a lot of fun. There is a good amount of vehicles, a little bit of tricky terrain and some really neat nodes.
With 4 Balls representing the highest rating. I rate this map a solid 3.25 Balls.

Azeraw-I don't know what that word means but, this map is an absolute blast. Aesthetically, it is very basic, almost bland. The action on this map is non-stop. There are some nice health pickups, tanks and light vehicles. Imagine playing Stinkhole but, with a Prime Node and just enough room to make the vehicles relavent. This is my early favorite.
I rate this map 3.5 Balls.

Darkwalker Nightmare-The name says it all. Each team gets a couple-three Darkwalkers and a Leviathan, as well as other light vehicles. The center terrain is mostly open so, plan to get smoked when you least expect it. This absolutely is a map that should be played with larger groups. I played 3v3 and felt that the teams were too small to really appreciate the map. Keeping that in mind. I rate this map a comfortable 3 Balls.

    Foggy Weather
    - When you see this map. You will understand what I am about to write. This map is difficult. Maybe I'm half a ****** but, I found this map to be ridiculously difficult. You can't see anything and there are so many hills that it becomes annoying. Perhaps my opinion of this map will change once(if) my skill level increases. For now, I rate this map a sweaty 2 Balls.

Pyramid Of Doom -This map, while difficult, challenges you in a way that makes it fun. There are multiple levels and not a lot of places to hide. The action is fast and often. Since there isn't a lot of ground to cover. This map will favor those of you that shoot straighter than others. I got crushed on it but, still had a lot of fun. I rate this map 3.25 Balls.

As I play the other maps, I will post my thoughts up here. Feel free to add your two cents and tell me where you think I am wrong.
Most importantly, don't just take my word for it. GO DOWNLOAD THE MAPS AND PLAY THEM YOURSELF!

I don't know how to download them via the ps3. I used my laptop, a cardreader and a 2gb SD memory card to transfer them from my laptop to my PS3. One map at a time. Arduous process but, worth it.

To download via PS3 is easy.

You need to stick a USB thumbdrive in your PS3.

Using the PS3's web browser go to the url. Select ONE USERDATA.JAM (if it's a zip, rar, or whatever file you will not be able to import it into the PS3 without first using a PC to unzip, unrar, or unwhatever) and save it to your USB drive.

Exit the Browser, start UT3, navigate to Community, My Content, import

            Select your USB drive

            A few notes:
Store the USERDATA.JAM on the root folder (top folder, do not put it in any subdirectories) of your USB drive.
You can only import one USERDATA.JAM at a time. If you download multiples they will either be overwritten, in which case you will be importing he last one. Of if the multiple USERDATA.JAMs are renamed, then will have to be renamed back to USERDATA.JAM one at a time.
Installing mods (vs maps) you can run into problems if the server you are playing on has the same mod. (Like when you jump on your Uberboard, you fall through the bottom of the map.)

While all of the above is true - Alx-ndr was right also.

Due to a problem with the download site, the USERDATA.JAM files are actually named USERDATA1234567.JAM. The only means of making these maps usable is to download them to a PC, rename them to USERDATA.JAM, then copy them to your thumbdrive. If you have a PC, this is a small detail......however, using the PS3 browser will not work under these circumstances.

I have it on first hand knowledge that in the near future, the maps will be hosted at a different site, which will correct this problem.

I encourage EVERYONE , even if you don't intend on ever becoming a Warfare player, to download at least 1 map , so that you know how to do it. It won't be long before other clans (TDM, CTF, VCTF specifically) will start hosting new maps, and you will need to do it for their servers if you intend on playing with your clan friends.

Everyone can go to www.UT3GOW.com to dowload the new warfare maps either from ur ps3 or PC. PM me if you have any questins or if you need help with anything. Once we finish the design both sites(www.GodsOfWarfare.com and www.UT3GOW.com) will be the synonymous.
