    Don't the windows conflict? Like, if you're playing in one windows the other doesn't responds to the same controls? Or even with the remote control (have one :P)

    you guys keep talking about running it in windowed mode what about a dual monitor setup with full screen?

    Xpadder is great I've been using it for quite a while now. Another item that that is very useful especially for this is they sell a ps2, xbox(original) and gamecube controller converter for the pc at walmart for $10.

    And with Xpadder you can run multiple controller profiles at once. Just use the tabs at the top. And when you assign a button go to advanced and you can set up pipeswitching!

    In which ini file do you unlock the Xbox controller? I could'nt find it but i stumbled onto something else that's interesting and suprisingly worked...

    Ini tweaks are dangerous like filling your car with gas is dangerous. Just don't spill any on the ground and set it on fire and you'll probably be ok. You just need to know the syntax and/or range of values that are possible to use, and make back-ups of your files so if you do something wrong it's easy to reverse.

    By syntax, I mean that if you see
    bCenteredWeaponsFire=False
    then you can safely assume that changing False to True will be safe.

    By range, I mean that if you see
    xRes=1280
    yRes=1024
    then you can safely assume that using values like 800 and 600, 1024 and 768, 1920 and 1200 or whatever, just keep it underneath or equal to you monitor's resolution.

    If you are an average or beginning tweaker, just follow those basic guidelines and don't change anything if you don't have an idea what it does.

    yeah, but ini tweaks are awfully dangerous sometimes, and you need to be careful, otherwise you could f*ck up you game big time.

    Good job

    You don't really need Xpadder. UT3 has support for the 360 controller built into it. You just have to unlock it via an ini tweak.

    Don't have much choice
    I doubt Epic will ever consider splitscreen for PC and if they do it's probably last on there list. So will have to result to non practical measures to see it happen even if only a few will be able or willing to do it.

    Thx for the link to that program. It's much for flexible and user friendly than my current software for my gamepad and may complicate things less.

    Btw is there anyone playing UT3 with their gamepad atm? I thought it was just plug and play. I'll need one instance to use mouse and other the gamepad's analog for aiming. Otherwise I'll need another "fake mouse to make it work" which heavily complicates things. Or i could somehow turn my controller into an emulated xbox controller...

    Use Xpadder (freeware), it's constantly updated and built for tons of controllers.

    @Insidiae
    Love Settlers series, not saying pc splitscreen isn't possible quite the contrary.

    Dual boxing and AutoHotkey might actually work...It can send input to inactive windows doing the dual boxing thing. Btw how do i play with my gamepad ut3 if it's not a xbox one. I tried enabling joystick via the options but nothing happens...My controller is programmable so I'm kinda cheating atm

    Anyways i ran two ut3's in WinXp 32 bit in windowed mode. Hosted game, joined it via other instance and mapped the keys so i can control bot via gamepad and top via keyboard and so far it's working, at least the running forward,backwards jumping bit.
    ut2d ftw!

    Someone experienced in scripting with autohotkeys might be able to pull this off

    Heres an extremly useful link

    Considering you'd need multiple input devices for each person, then it would have to be registered to each window else everything you did would interfere.
    Thats only if you managed to get both games stable enough to run, and then managed to make both windows simultaneously active. Just not going to happen.
    I remember the old settlers 2 (dunno if anyone on here remembers that game, but it rocked anyway ) was capable of using 2 mices and splitted the screen vertically in order to play with 2, to add to that the game ran on a 486 computer ( hope I'm making sense but that computer was before the first pentiums of 166 mhz). Ofcourse it had much lesser graphics and all but it should be easily doable for any game now considering our CPU's have been improved alot, but indeed running 2 games at the same time requires more..

    Might want to check out some of Dual Boxing code for the input stuff. Not exactly the same thing but could prove useful.

    I think you guys are actually complicating the input issue a bit too much. My idea, Use a 360 controller for one instance of the game and a mouse and keyboard for the other. If you log into the game under different profiles, the controls shouldn't conflict with some ini tweaking.

    Serious Sam 2 supported two mouses? Never knew that.

    Been browsing the internet for simple solution and found that no one created something like this before at least something that can be used by the average person, although the idea has been around forever.

    Oh and no one knows how to make two instances active at once...

    And my computer runs two instances of ut3 easily can even pump up the graphics to a decent level. Plus this is useful for testing mutators in a network scenario. It's only after i opened the third intance frames started to drop badly. This was on a e6600 with 8800gt

    Something interesting i noticed is that i can change the keys, graphics of both instances and they wont interfere with each other. And i can't set ut3 to an odd resolution when windowed.
