+1 for Morpheus remake.
At the moment, I've been exclusively playing Facing Worlds online. (*Hopes for a Lava Giant remake so that I can cycle between two CTF maps*)

Robin repliedHmm, well, i guess i'm one of the more conservative players then. I don't think any of the new maps of UT3 is as good as any of my old favourites. They're not bad, but there's enough of new maps in UT3 already, in my opinion. Besides, i've always seen the UT series as one of those competition-series which are "supposed" to be kept is it through every game, like Counter-Strike, and only get renewed graphics, to preserve the same feeling as much as possible. New maps doesn't exactly help keeping it that way. I think the UT series by far is mostly played by veterans who've been playing it since UT99 anyway, and it's quite noticeable that players new to the scene doesn't quite get that. I'm one of the people who want the game to stay just the way it is forever, simply because UT is UT; i don't want anything new and feel devastated when they replace good features with new one's only to pick up other types of players. It wouldn't be UT if the developers listened to every "fresh" advise. This series has already reached it's peak style and game-play years ago in my eyes and shouldn't change in any way. It would turn into another game after a while, and that would leave most of the old fans disappointed instead. They could make a new, similar game, with fresh ideas and features, but why invade what's already perfect?
For those who do want to change the game > That's what the modding community is for. Game series aren't supposed change. Get better, sure, but new maps? I've played countless of new maps since UT99, but there are so few ones that feel good to play that i've given up hope. They could as well remake every single map from UT99 and be as successful level-creators as anyone, simply because they did such a **** good job the first time.
By the way, if You're tired with the game already, are You sure You've bought the right game? I could play the old classics for another five years. Cheers to classics!

Robin repliedTempest was such an underrated masterpiece. And Curse, the most popular one in 'the days', was the most overrated in my opinion. Why does always the most boring maps turn into the one's that every server play? lol

Ostracize started a topic I played UT99 at 400x300 resolution on 56kI played UT99 at 400x300 resolution on 56k
400x300, Software Renderer, any and all options were turned off.
I played the game on a Pentium 200 with I think 128 MB ram (though it might have been 64). My video card was an 8mb piece of garbage that didn't support OpenGL. I remember somehow tricking Quake3 into believing that it did and being able to run the game, but it ran even worse so I chose to buy UT.
I would only ever play Facing Worlds because it was one of the few maps I didn't lag on. I didn't lag because I'd hide on the enemy tower and snipe people in the back, keeping far far away from the action so I didn't have to deal with 5fps.
I played Facing Worlds for the first time since the mediocre remake in UT2k3 (egyptian wtf) and remembered all of what made UT one of my favorite games of all time. Sadly my sitting on the enemy tower didn't work so well this time because of the big HERE I AM line that appears with every shot.
I run UT3 on 1440x900 in a window. Every option is turned down and screen percent is at 75. I had it at 50 and it was smooth, but it looked just terrible. At 100 it looks nice but my FPS drops too much in close fights. My FPS at 75 usually sits between 15 and 30, depending on the map and how many players are in the server.
Nevertheless, today was a day of remembering what made the game great. Here's hoping for some other classic remakes in the near future. Like that Deathmatch map that had three buildings and lowgrav. I spent months in that map.Tags: None
