    best CPU ?!?!

    hi guys,

    i m asking you, which CPU you have and wether it works well.
    Because momentary i have a P4 3GHz, which sucks a little bit now.
    Offline ut3 runs great, but online my computer is laggy, and i really like to play online, because humens are so stupid and genuis. Bots just can aim perfectly and not thinking like a real humen.

    So which CPU and Mainboard you recommend.

    ================================================== =====
    p.s :: i have just 400 USD

    i dont think your CPU is your only problem. a P4 3Ghz should do the online job just fine.
    you'll need to look at all of your specs becouse it looks like your GPU could use an update to. the latesd CPu's probably wont even fit on your mobo.

    but first of all you should post all your computer specs up here.
    after that try to turn all of your setting down and be shure you are joining LOW ping servers

      Atleast a dual core CPU will definitely help UT3, but only if the graphics card is good enough. Post your computer specs here so we can help you out better.

          I have an overclocked (3,0 GHz) Q6600 and I suppose it works quite well. Sometimes I get the feeling it's bottlenecking my system when playing UT3, but I might be wrong.

              Hmm... an overclocked QC bottlenecking a system.

              *sigh*

              Maskin, your CPU humilliates high-end enterprise grade machines! http://www.spec.org/cpu2006/results/res2008q1/ Built with productivity in mind. Where time is money.

              Sorry guys, I must sound like a broken record by now. I digress.

                looks ok, but how much RAM does your GPU have? en how high do you have your resolution set ?

                i had an 7900GT/O 256 mb and 1400x900 was to high a resolution to play with out stuttering. for the higher resolution you'll definetly need more RAM on a 7 series or a GPU like an 8800GT or GTS

                  Is upgrading his cpu and mb going to help a lot with the game being laggy online?

                  Well, I have a Core 2 Duo E6700, an MSI P6N Sli-Fi (that I got for sixty bucks) and 2 gigs of cheap Patriot DDR2 800, and no complaints. I think you should at least get a Core 2 Duo CPU.

                  and an 8800GT, yes

                    Your best bet is to just get an E6750, a GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L, and a 8800GT 512MB. along with 2 GB of good memory.

                        If you are experiencing lag online, and only online, it may be your internet connection.

                        Try switching to a high-speed ISP.

                          Hmmm. Apparently I'm the only one who hasn't got a clue what a CPU is?
