It's not made to be used with a mouse and let's face it, who does? Do YOU even use the mouse to play?

Furthermore, if you would rather use a mouse in the first place, just one more reason you should have gotten the PC version.

Hmmm, I can only play UT3 on world and texture detail 1. Why? Because if I put higher I lag too much. Heck, even on 1 - 1 my FPS is only 30.

What resolution are you using? You could always lower it.

I do agree with and understand the reasoning for doing it, it'd be nice though if somewhere along the line they did add in the proper speed as an official option. Check my sig and give it a whirl, even on a controller it's pretty playable.

Some people will like it slower, but choice is always a good thing

First off, putting a phrase in quotation marks does in no way demand that phrase having been said. I believe this is called paraphrasing. Don't criticize the aptitude of another's language skills when your own are lacking; it makes you look really desperate.

As for paraphrasing, the art is take the context of what someone said and actually condense the original intention, you failed and made up your own version of things which is indeed desperate.

You haven't made one valid point so far, you're continually corrected and your opinion is based on only experiencing one platform, yet you're quite happy to tell everyone about both. You just need to go back to your first post to see how little you actually know about the PS3 version of UT3 and how much weight your 'opinion' holds.

If anything your type are the ones who give PC users (of which I am also one) a bad name.

After doing a comparison between the two it appears the PS3 version uses Texture Detail 1 and World Detail 2. It's possible the World Detail may even be 1, infact.

The best way to determine this is to fire up UT3 for the PC and run it at world detail 2, loading the downtown map. Do the same on the PS3. You'll see, both versions have a missing water texture where all the drain pipes are. You can jump in the water, it makes splashes, you can hear the water, but you can't see it. This only happens at World Detail 1 and 2, World Detail 3 has the water texture.

There's almost no way to do a comparison between the texture detail without having the PS3 and PC versions side by side, which I have, and it appears it uses Texture Detail 1.

Just stating this for the record books, incase anyone was wondering.

Not AT ALL surprised. PC outperforms consoles in this and any other cross-platform game I know of. Even in the PS3 sacrifices must be made, even though I'm running the game at minimum 30fps at 1680*1050 on an ATI HD2600XT with full world and texture detail. That's a $100 video card.

FPS on console is really lame anyway. Considering you could buy a PC capable of running UT3 on full video settings for less than a PS3, and you use an interface that's actually capable of precision aiming (rather than the age-old dual analog method of moving around and keeping your crosshair centered until the enemy is in your line of fire).

I also hear custom content has issues on the PS3. Honestly why even bother?

Because I don't have a spare $1,000.00 laying around, and if I did, I wouldn't spend it all so I could play one game. Buying something for $60 is a lot easier than $1,000.00...

Actually the PS3 costs more than 60$.

Also in the sale of games, PCs are cheaper since you're not paying 10-20$/sale to have Nintendo, Sony (etc) allow the game on their platform.

Annnnd when the game consoles turn into a monopoly... do you honestly expect Microsoft, Sony, or whoever survives, to take money-hits on each console sold?

Of course not, even back in the Nintendo versus Sega days games were sold at 70$ a piece... and the cost to produce those games were orders of magnitude (maybe a factor of 100-300x) less than they are now.

So -- games cost 10-20$ more, and yet cost 100-300x less to make?

Something tells me this trend will come back with a shrieking vengeance once the member companies are allowed to.

Hence why I like the PC architecture: Buy the hardware at a slight markup, but not need to pay senseless branding fees on all the software you purchase (or the ability to play online... over and above the bandwidth)

You at least know you will get a good few years out of a console, with developers continually juicing more and more out of the system. Neither the PS3 or 360 are anywhere near their limits, the PS2 has only relatively recently nearly reached its ceiling.

While I agree you do pay extra for titles (it's only roughly $10-$20 here as well which is odd), in the long run you do get your moneys worth a few times over. Sure they will lag behind in visuals after awhile but at least you know the games will run sweet and are optimized as opposed to having to upgrade every release round as I feel I have to on PC. Even with a really good system there are no guarantees that a game will run well or at all thanks to the multitude of hardware configurations. Quite often you will be playing newer games uglier then your older games until you upgrade to newer tech that they're using.

At the end of the day though we all have different tastes, I'm not saying I'm right and you're wrong, I simply don't see it the same way as you.
