    8800 gts 512 (g92) vs 8800 gts 640 results

I just upgraded from a 8800 gts 640mb to the G92 and here are my benchmarking results.

    8800 gts 640: min=30, max=93, average=60.86 fps

    8800 gts 512 (G92): min=32, max=114, average=66.22 fps

Benchmarking done on avalanche warfare map with 6 vs 6 on max settings running vista 64. Fraps was used for a 5 minute average. As you can see there is about a 5.5 fps increase with the new G92. I am still not completely satisfied though, so I will let you know what happens when I add a second G92 in SLI.

Current specs: 1680x1050 resolution, Q6600 at 3.0 Ghz, 4 gigs ram.

Just curious, but what settings do you have the cards at (Core, Memory, Shader)?

just wondering, but does having 4GB have an increase in performance or loading speed compared to 2GB for UT3? are you on 64bit OS?

I went from 2GB to 4GB for a day and didn't see any in-game performance difference. Load speeds seemed a bit quicker but I didn't actually time it.

After my night of gaming I decided to update my BIOS version using ASUS' update utility. Apparently that's a huge mistake because it killed my BIOS and the board is in for warranty repair right now.

        Similar specs as OP. C2D @ 3GHz, 4GB RAM, 8800GTS 640MB @ 1680x1050, XP-64.
