Impact hammer 2ndary in DM and TDM

Sorry if this is a noobish question, but what does the impact hammer secondary fire do in DM, TDM and Duel? My UT experience is primarily in 2k3 and 2k4 so I'm used to the shield gun. Now I'm all for trying new things, and I understand the impact secondary mows vehicles, but in gametypes with no vehicles what do you use it for?

you can use it to knock power ups off other players, so like invincible on fearless or invisible on heat ray, think it will knock off Udamage and berserk and the shield etc. its very handy to deal with the invicible power up and as soon as you knock it off your opponent you pick it up.

Secondary hammer can be used to knock upgrades like shield belt, dmg amp, berserk etc off your opponent..

well honestly, i wouldnt charge a person with a powerup in the first place...
I wish it could be used to knock someone down though ;/

secondary hammer is pretty much useless tbh, if ya managed to get in close
enough to use it on someone with udamage, its just as easy to kill them with
the primary & steal it. where as the secondary might knock the udamage off
him, but you gave him the option to load up some rocks & kill ya b4 u got the
chance to really use it.

Knocking power-ups off of people is surprisingly useful, and I use it to my advantage all the time. If someone gets a power-up, and isn't as good of a dodger as you are, or you take them by surprise... you can avoid most of their fire and knock it off of them.

Sure, if someone considerably worse than you gets a shield belt, it isnt hard to kill them. But it also isn't hard to steal it and then kill them.

The hammer can knock on off the invincibility, yes.

It seems like sickeningly few people in pubs know you can knock invincibility off. No one seems properly fearful when I lunge at them with my impact hammer... or tries to steal it off me.

I've knocked off the invinc many times in fearless.

It's funny sometimes because when you hammer them after getting their invinc they don't know what happened. I had one player just stare at me for about 1 second after I took it, then he realized what happened and panicked. He started jumping around frantically trying to get away, then came hammer time

He picked up on it real quick by knocking it off me next time, and then killing me.

Does the hammer have to be fully charged to knock off a powerup, or will a quick jolt do the trick?

In what way is it good against vehicles, too? Any damage bonus? It doesn't seem to hit with the same knock-back as primary when I use it.

most common use is shieldbelt imo. not sure if it works with armor or thigh thou.

with the other powerups easier to kill the guy first to pick it up unless it's invincibility

i'm also wondering if it got to be fully loaded or not. never experienced it too much, cuz i'm not a pacifist :P
