The sloooow fieeld is like soooooo trippy maaaaan. I go through it just to catch a nice WHOAA buzz maaan totally )
I agree with the above though, how is it that my own slow field can end up messin up my teammates when EMP and Spider Mines dont ) Maybe u should be able to guide the slow field with the AVRIL ray like the mines - so it moves in a weird gooes animation right onto the enemy, that would make Floodgate a very trippy experience
i dont think enemies should be able to actually see the slow glob, but maybe make it so postproeccessing is altered in that localized part of your screen, so you like notice "wow, in a square shape the colors on the other side seem very muted!"
But then make it much more noticable for the team that placed it
I'm suddenly a big fan of this idea. Maybe have the PP effect extend beyond the boundaries of the field a little bit so that alert players can see it last-second and try to evade, but they still won't know exactly what it's boundaries are.

right now it is usless, and basically an equal neucence for both teams
I have seen multiple instances of people using the slowfield for breaking fall from high places online, but of course I got the flag-carrier with my plasmas, lol. Trick is to fall near the edges so for quick exiting.
If you had actually read my post, and thought for a second before posting yourself, in the first place, you would realize that that idea is too obvious to need posting, and that the idea of the field itself not being able to recognize something is what is ridiculous, given the nature of it.
If you'd think for a second, you wouldn't make those mistakes.
Yeah honestly. I didn't even bother to think of the in-universe explanation for it as there are so many, so obvious, possibilities.

As I said earlier use of and possession of the item/armor piece in question would be automatic, it wouldn't be a gameplay element, just a way to explain why the field doesn't affect it's own team, if you read a thread before replying you're less prone to make these kinds of mistakes.
So why should we have to pick this second device thing up? Why can't is just be assumed to be on the players in any match with the field?
Do you really expect me to go track down this f***ing thing every time I spawn so I can go through the d*** field? Does that mean that only one player on the team at a time gets to have the advantages? The entire point is to give an advantage to the whole team who places the field, not just whoever camps the device.
Why is it ridiculous that the field be able to distinguish between team-members, but it can interact with this magical device? I don't understand the point of making people pick up some stupid device, it'll only slow down gameplay, frustrate players and decrease the use of the field in general.
If you've already come up with the idea of the device that's assumed to be on the player, thus negating th entire point of b***ing about whether the field could detect things in the first place, then what was the point of any of your posts?
The only reason we would need to posit such a device (the concept of which, when considered in the case that the device is assumed, and granted to all players in the match, is so obvious it needn't be stated) unless you were planning it as a pickup, which will only serve to frustrate things.
If your entire point was that there could be this device that existed on paper only that would allow people to pass through, well, no s*** Sherlock. It's not a physical phenomenon, it's a technologically generated field. You don't need any special devices to have it detect what you are.
Also, team-colored outfits can have a field around them, or nano-bots or sensors or what-not, that interact(s) with the field in different ways.
There're many ways to explain it.
Would be much better to have each team carry a small device in a pocket or on their belt that sent out a canceling field tuned to their own slow zone devices.
Spider mines are robots, they have AI, a physical phenomenon doesn't have a mind thus it wouldn't be able to distinguish between a turnip and a team member.
Keep in mind, though: It's a technologically generated field, possibly (since it's used by the Nightshade) Necris is origin, (which means it may also be utilizing sentient nanoblack to a certain extent,) not some abstract phenomenon. It can have AI of its own (programming in a CPU in the base, and in the field itself via nano-bots or transmitted signals.)
