Well you've got a point here. When Epic was first talking about how great it was, they suggested using it on your flag or something. Well gee, none of the CTF maps have one, and the VCTF maps that do, you can't get to the flag with the nightshade!
I think the EMP mine is good though.
Kargo has a deployable one that you can drop down anywhere.
