As far as from Epic they have stated that they will not be making/bringing back assault mode.

But there is hope from the community to bring it back as Epic has said that the mod community can convert Warfare into assault if they want. The only thing is I don't know if we can create a new gametype to filter them, like having AS instead of WAR if we do.

im very sorry to say but ut3 has no assault mode, maybe it will available as an unnoficial mod but dont get happy yet, beying unnoficial means this:
Official content are mostly shipped with the game itself or with an official patch, making the content visible and playable for everyone that owns the game updated, which will result in alot of ppl knowing that assault for ut3 actually exists
Unofficial content are shipped as optional download made by unnoficiall staff, this might not look like an issue but, if you think better, you will find out not beying official it will result in less popularity because:
1- the content is not official so it will not be available for server browsing meaning no one will even know that it exists without searching forums,
2- the content needs to be downloaded which many ppl cba with it.
So this will drastically reduce the content popularity.
Still its up to you if its worth it or not.
