Gamespy Support?

A while ago, before UT3's release, I read the Epic had partnered with Gamespy to develop the online gamebrowser/matchmaking/stats system.

What ever happened with that? Did gamespy back out and leave Epic to throw together a gamebrowser that looks like it was designed in 1997?
