    Xbox 360 wireless PC controller

I bought one of the MS Windows controllers yesterday, and just read this in the new 1.2 beta patch thread.
Fixed binding gamepad/joystick keys (you must set AllowJoystickInput=1 in the [WinDrv.WindowsClient] of your UTEngine.ini to enable gamepads/joysticks).
It works, I inputted the 1 instead of the default 0 that was in there.

I never could get the hang of my two sons gaming consoles that they bring over to my place, and once again I prove to myself I am a klutz with a gaming pad

The fire buttons on it are switched around, I do not think that can be fixed until the new UT Tweaker program comes out from Brad.

I find the controls just to hard to use on it, especially when aiming up and down.
I have played PC games for many years now, and I am good at the keyboard and mouse.
This just feels strange, but I wanted to report that the controller does indeed work with the game.

I felt no force feedback in it, it must have to be configured somewhere.

    Got mine at Bestbuy yesterday.
Wish it came in black, all my other PC stuff is black.

Not sure if I will continue to use it fro UT or not, a big learning curve for me since I never got into the console scene.

Just wanted to report though that it does indeed work for anyone wanting to try one.

Cool, but sorta useless. The mouse is a superior aiming device, so the equivalent amount of practice you put into it will always get you better results than with a gamepad. I just wish they'd put track balls in games pads. Best of both worlds.

Sometimes I like using my 360 controller for casual fun and variation-- and to stay decent for when I'm forced to play against friends on console. This is very useful, and an appreciated aspect of patch 2.

You have to used hacked drivers to get full funcitionary of the controller (including the trigger buttons).

I think this will be the best way to config it.

Right now when I use the small blue button, it backs me out of the game, and I can exit to Windows that way.

i personally prefer the playstation controller, just a lot easier on my hands. there is an adapter you can get a radio shack/internet that lets you plug one into usb. some versions give you rumble, but most games don't support it.

I use the 360 controller to play UT3. Ive even got to 80 overall in the LB's. Now I have to say, sniping and shock combos are harder to pull off with the controller than the kb/m. Hopefully Brad G's custom sensitivities for each weapon will help.(It should) I prefer the controller over the kb/m, because its what im comfortable with. IMO anyone that is really good with the kb/m will most likely destroy someone on the controller 1v1, for the simple fact that dodging is way easier on the kb/m, and the presision of the mouse is unparalled. I would love to get used to the kb/m, but I still look at the keys while I type, which makes it very difficult to play a game as fast paced as UT3. My advice- play the way that is most comfotable for you.

Triggers should work fine (at least they do in 1.1 patch) without any additional drivers, or applications like Xpadder.

UT3 has native XINPUT code which is what the 360 uses. The reason the triggers and other buttons are "messed up" is because they aren't properly bound in the UTInput.ini.

Do a thread search under my user name for that huge thread I made about how to configure a Xbox 360 controller for PC.

I got my wireless 360 controller to work too. aiming is very difficult. The way the game handles input, there are no aiming assists for gamepad users

I am curious to how my son will react when he tries out the controller since he good with them on the consoles.
Before he does though, I am pulling a fast one on him.

I will let him start to play, but he does not know about the controller yet.
I will sit behind him, and when he is playing I will fire up the controller and start doing stuff on it.
