    UT3 Basic Vehicle Training

First of all im very sorry if this kind of thread has been posted already, if yes remove it or close it which ever you prefer...
    Now to the strategy:

    15 vehicles available
    Axon Cicada,
    Axon Goliath,
    Axon Hellbender,
    Axon Leviathan,
    Axon Manta,
    Axon Paladin,
    Axon Raptor,
    Axon Scorpion,
    Axon SPMA,
    Necris Darkwalker,
    Necris Fury,
    Necris Nemesis,
    Necris Scavenger,
    Necris Viper and
    Necris Nightshade.

now the so popular which vs which vehicles war... lets start with:

Cicada- Actually this vehicle in ut3 is not such a great addition... it can mostly get killed by any vehicle, it is only good vs leviathan... by hiding around a pillar, cliff or building you will get a decent protection if the leviathan its up on you. The Strategy is simple load up the rockets in a covered place, when the loading is almost full get in line of sight with the leviathan and shoot them all at a time, this will do alot of damage but the rockets will take some time to reach the target so make sure the leviathan is deployied when firing them in order to not miss.
Enemy infantry using Long Bow Avril versus this vehicle is a waste of time since it has flare which is a decoy to Longbow Avril Missiles.
You can use this strategy also for nodes and cores in warfare.
This vehicle is not very usefull to any other operation.

Axon Goliath- This is best used versus Necris Scavenger, Axon Scorpion, Axon Hellbender and Axon SPMA, after you get used to Axon Goliath you will find it a very good tool versus Axon Manta, Necris Viper and even Raptors with a Good Aim. Many ppl claim that Axon Goliath can take out Necris Darkwalker with no problems but its not that true, Axon Goliath vs Necris Darkwalker at big distance is not a wise choise since Necris Darkwalker lasers can hit instantly while Axon Goliath shells can take a bit of time to reach the target leaving Necris Darkwalker time to dodge the shells.
This vehicle one of the best choises versus infantry.

Axon Hellbender- This is a very good choise to destroy enemy Axon Cicadas, Axon Raptors, Necris Fury, Necris Scavenger and Axon Scorpion, you can easely destroy Necris Nemesis too but at low ranges only.
This vehicle is also very good versus infantry using the back turret precise laser which can easely kill in 1 hit 100hp units with no armor at big distances and also at low distances you can spam shock balls and then alt fire them to create powerfull shock combos which is devastating to any infantry with or without armor, when you get used to this vehicle killing Axon Mantas and Necris Vipers at low or high range will not be a challenge.
When Near a wall or building you can use them as cover to recharge your rear turret, using this strategy you can kill Necris Nemesis even at high range.
The Vehicle Rear Turret has a charging system, so the more you spam the less damage it will deal, keeping the button pressed will give aproximately 16 damage per hit, if you leave the button unpressed for 3 seconds the next hit you will do will inflict aproximately 160 damage, which is quite alot versus light vehicles or infantry, also remember the turret recharges automatically so you dont exactly have to be on the rear turret with the button unpressed to recharge it.
You can simply fire it and then move back to the driver seat and spam some shock balls or drive because the turret recharges anyway, after 3 or more seconds once you go back to the rear turret you can fire it again and go at the driver seat.
Also Dont forget This: the turret will charge automatically from the first second its spawned, this means you dont have to worry about a thing, once you switch to the rear turret beying the first time you switch to it or not you will notice the turret already is charged.

Axon Leviathan- This vehicle is a wise choise to anyone ingame, having 5 seats, with 5 ppl in this vehicle Axon Leviathan can devastate any other vehicle or infantry ingame, it can result in a perfect distraction to enemies and totally change the score of the battle. The only bad side is you wont find this vehicle in many maps.
The main cannon when not deployed will deal about 77 damage per hit, the fire rate of this cannon is similar to the alt fire of the stinger minigun meaning its quite usefull in battles, when moving dont hesistate to use it!
To deploy the leviathan you must press spacebar while not moving on a flat terrain, when deployed the Main cannon will switch to the bombard plasma cannon, this cannon deals a damage equivalent to a redemmer missile! so its quite powerfull versus anything.
every leviathan turret have a plasma shield equiped this shield can be started by pressing the alt fire key, altough each turret has a diferent kind of fire:
The First turret uses shock lasers, these lasers shoot twice faster than a normal shock rifle and deals 70 damage each hit.
The Second turret uses rockets, this turret fires 4 rockets in a row, the rockets deals aproximately 120 damage each and they fly very fast!
The Third Turret uses less powerfull lasers than the first one, each deals aproximately 20 damage but they fire extremelly fast.
The Fourth Turret uses shockballs, these shockballs automatically transform into shock combos whenever they hit anything, these shock combos deal aproximately 30 damage to a vehicle but against infantry these shockcombos deal more than 100 damage so you can kill any infantry with no shield or extra health in 1 hit.
Axon Leviathan needs alot of practice and teamwork, try to cooperate with your team the best you can, once you and your team mastered this vehicle you will get prized with very good results.

Axon Manta- This vehicle is best used to kill infantry by ramming them which is so easely done since this vehicle can turn around very fast and even jump.
This vehicle is also very good versus Axon SPMA since all that the enemy can do is shoot shock balls at you, keep a good distance and you will surelly win.
When used to the vehicle you can win Necris Nemesis and even Necris Darkwalkers.
Carefull if you get spotted at high distances by an avril, you wont survive the battle if 1 of them hits you!

Axon Paladin- This vehicle is a very good choise versus Axon Goliaths, Necris Nemesis, Necris Scavengers, Axon Hellbenders, Axon Scorpions, Necris Vipers, Axon SPMA, and Axon Manta. With its Shield you can easely defend from hits and strike at the enemy when hes reloading making this vehicle a very good tactical tool in battles, this vehicle is very good versus infantry aswell, Try to avoid open battles at all cost keep something like a building or wall near you, you will find them very usefull in battles because you will notice your shield is not infinite and it will need to recharge.

Axon Raptor- This flying vehicle is prefered by many, its a simple to use vehicle good versus Axon Scorpions at high Range, you can use homing missiles versus an Axon Manta which can make this Axon Mantas worst nightmare, Necris Viper suffer pretty much from the same thing as Axon Mantas do.
As Usual Avoid at all cost any Longbow Avril because 1 hit may not kill you but it will surelly leave you with very low health, never go on a open battle too have always something near you like a wall or building where you can cover from the enemy fire.

Axon Scorpion- This Vehicle has plasma discs which are very good versus enemy Axon Mantas, Necris Viper and Hoverboard Infantry. Once the Infantry gets knocked down of their hoverboards you can easelly kill them with the plasma discs but you will need a proper aim because once the enemy is on foot the plasma disc wont lock on them.
This vehicle is also good versus Axon Raptors at low range.
You will see many ppl using the self destruct system but i dont consider it much of a help in most battles since it can easely be denied and you loose the vehicle in the first second you activate it... My tactics works like this:
Try to find some cover as a wall, hill or just building, wait for the Axon Mantas, Necris Viper, Axon Raptors and Infantry and take them down easelly with the homing plasma discs as specified above...
But there are times when a sacrifice has to be made, example:
When someone is trying to destroy your Power Core and your only chance is to finish off quickly the Power Node connected to it, else you will loose the current round, in those cases for example if youre in a scorpion, the best thing you have to do is to detonate it right in the Power Node, to activate the detonation you have to click space and then press the button E, then you will automatically jump out of the car and the car will go straight forward for the kill...
You sacrifice a scorpion but yet your reward was saving the game... so remember when using this self destruct method, first decide if the loss really is worth it, this will assure that you wont just waste scorpions around for nothing.

Any other vehicle wont be possible to win in open terrain, you will need to use your imagination and explore the way your weapon fires the plasma discs, imagine you have a small wall on your front and a goliath is on the other side, since your discs dont just fly forward all the time and they actually start dropping altitude like grenades this can be a very good advantage!

Axon SPMA- This is simply a tactical vehicle, dont ever use it on open terrain since thats not this vehicle job.
You always need to find a good cover, building or walls or just a cliff covering you from the enemies.
First you need to deploy this vehicle, to do so press space when ure on a flat ground and not moving, this will automatically switch you to the mortar cannon.
Aim anywhere in the sky and alt click the mouse, after that alt click again to deploy the radar, now since you have set your radar in the sky you can left click the mouse to fire a big bomb shell which will transform in several smaller bombard shells, these shells gives alot of damage.
This vehicle is best to be used by spamming bombs in an area you want to cover or just wait for a vehicle to get into your range and hit!
Once you get used to this vehicle you will start to enjoy the way you blow up pretty much any ground vehicle in sight!

Necris Darkwalker- This is a very good vehicle versus Necris Nemesis, Necris Scavenger, Axon Scorpion, Axon SPMA in open battle, Axon Goliath at high range, Axon Hellbenders and Infantry.
Once you get used to it you will find it a powerfull tool in battle and you will be able to kill Necris Vipers at high range only and Necris Mantasat high range only too.

Necris Fury- This is a very fast vehicle with a powerfull but low ranged laser, you can kill any infantry in matter of seconds with this vehicle, you can kill any Axon Goliath and Necris Darkwalker at low ranges too, it is also possible to kill enemy Axon Raptors if near them.
The alt fire of this vehicle will give you a good speed bost which can be very usefull in fights.
Once you get used to it you will be able to kill pretty much any vehicle ingame apart from Axon Hellbenders, Axon Leviathans and Necris Nemesis.

Necris Nemesis- You will find this vehicle a sniper dream, long range spammable and powerfull lasers, it can kill almost anything at low range, even Necris Darkwalkers if they are not paying attention, This vehicle is very good versus Axon Raptors, Axon Cicadas, Axon Scorpions and Necris Fury, even Axon SPMA at long range.
If you press Space bar you will notice that the vehicle will rise and move slower but it will boost your firing rate alot, if you press shift the vehicle will lower, you will notice you cant aim with its turrets left or right but this will give you a very good speed bost.
Once you get used to it you will find it very usefull versus Axon Mantas and Necris Vipers too.

Necris Scavenger- This vehicle is very usefull versus infantry, its small, its fast it can jump and transform into a ball by pressing alt fire that can roll over very fast when transformed into a ball you can also damage nearby vehicles by pressing left mouse button which will start to spin its claws, it has a lockmode to any infantry or vehicle, once the aim is locked this vehicle will send a plasma ball that will slowly damage the opponent, its not very usefull versus big vehicles such as Axon Goliath or versus high range vehicles such as Axon Hellbender and Necris Nemesis.
Also Avoid Avrils at all cost if 1 missile hits u then your vehicle is destroyied.
Once you get used to it you can even destroy Axon Mantas, Necris Vipers and Necris Darkwalkers.

Necris Viper- This vehicle is preffered by many, its easy to use, its possible to roll over light infantry too (not as good as Axon Mantas obviously) and it has a powerfull self destruct option, you can enable this option by simply jumping with the vehicle and pressing alt fire. The Self Destruct Option deals alot of damage which is very good versus Axon Goliaths or Necris Darkwalkers, this vehicle shoots some bouncing plasma lasers so it means if it hits a wall it wont explode it will just bounce off once and change direction, This vehicle requires alot of strategy in order to get a successfull usage.
You can use the plasma lasers to spam tunnels and keep the infantry or small vehicles away from it, or you can just sneak up on Axon Goliath or Necris Darkwalker, if possible weak him with the lasers first and then self destruct to a fast kill, carefull tought if youre trying to battle an Axon Goliath or Necris Darkwalker in open battles you wont succeed depending on the enemy experience.

Necris Nightshade- This vehicle has stealth making it invisible to any enemy in the map which can give you a very good advantage at rolling over infantry or going to a nearby Necris Darkwalker circulating around him and hitting him with the laser, by doing this you are almost guaranteed to kill it but be very carefull if the Necris Darkwalker secondary seat is taken dont try to attack else you will loose.
Pressing left mouse click will activate a laser, the laser can heal and deal damage just like a link gun which is a very good option to heal nearby vehicles or nodes or just to quickly kill a nearby enemy, this vehicle has also a mine drop ability, there are 4 kinds of deployable mines, the spidertrap mines, the EMP mines, Slow field generators and Deployable Energy Fields, each of these mines has its own function obviously... Spidermines will create spiders which will attack any nearby target, EMP mines will temporarly deactivate any nearby enemy vehicle whenever the enemy attempts to enter it, Slow Field Generators will create a Cubic like area, anything which gets in that area will get slowed down, that will include you and your teammates so be carefull where you spawn it and the Deployable Energy Fields are Shields, it will create a Shielded Area around the mine, which is usefull to block some caves or corridors you think they should be that way.
Never Forget no mine deployed will keep that way permanently, after a small time the mine will get removed and you will have to put it again, each kind of mine has a deployable limit number, to deploy a mine press spacebar when not moving, with the mouse aim in which side of the vehicle you want to put it and press the alt click or left click button to deploy it.

And we conclude the basic training of each vehicle, hope it was helpfull...
i made it expecially for newbies that dont know how to use them much or how to play with them.
Also Remember, you may find alot of ppl destroying Axon Goliaths with Axon Scorpions or Axon Mantas destroying Axon Raptors...
The reason i say this is because they dont have the requirement yet which is: Experience, and thats what makes it perfect!

I disagree with almost everything said about the Hellbender. Maybe its just me, but that vehicle is pretty worthless. Driver side: Slow speed (made worse by the idling engine sound), **** weapon (made totally inaccurate by the crosshair offset), and touchy steering way beyond what a real vehicle would have at these low speeds. As for the suicidal passenger spot, you've got a **** layzur that might be dangerous if it was accurate enough to hit anything, which it isn't, sporting a zoom of about x2. Wowwy.

Also, the only accurate thing about the Paladin entry is the note about the shield not being infinite, which makes it completely worthless. The Paladin shield stays up for four seconds or so, and then winks out without warning, assuming it doesn't clip any other geometry, which will cancel it earlier. This, combined with the pretty long recharge, makes the primary function absolutely worthless. All any enemy has to do is wait a second before firing, and the shield winks out as the round comes in. And good against infantry? In theory, maybe, but since you can't do a combo very quickly (as the shield is so unstable), you've got one chance, and anyone you fail to kill off will pulverize you before you get a second shot. Pile all of these weaknesses onto a slow, awkward vehicle, and what's the verdict? The Paladin, in a word, sucks. Bigtime. It stays parked right next to the Hellbender on most maps.

Thirdly, the fury. It's only worthwhile ability is flight, but don't expect that to help it too much, since when it gets somewhere, its inaccurate beams, often touted as being "sticky" will make destroying a target nigh impossible, whether ion the air or on the ground. It also has some strange ability to drag small vehicles toward it, but this does nothing in practice. It has a speed boost, though, which means you can flee when people get annoyed at you and blast the **** out of you. The Fury is all hat, and no cattle.

The skymines aren't really affected by the crosshair offset because it's an area weapon. It's incredibly powerful under the right circumstances, which are tight quarters or a choke point the enemy must pass through. It's brilliant on Downtown for clearing or protecting primes nodes, and it's pretty effective protecting the prime node on Torlan. The rear turret doesn't feel very powerful, but it'll still kill infantry in one hit. Without the knockback on vehicles it's just not fun tho.

I think with increased zoom for the backseat, a charge bar so people know the weapon has charge, knockback on vehicles and the steering revamped the Hellbender would be perfect. Honestly, hardly need to change a thing

i personally love the hellbender, it trounces the annoying enemies in mantas and low flying raptors easily.

offtopic... stealthbender? anyone wanna touch that subject?

Original concept for the Nightshade, or the Axon equivalent. Sort of like the Viper starting out as the Necris Manta.

I get obliterated in close-combat against 'benders most of the time on foot or in a light vehicle, so I'd have to agree that it's good for choke-point or ambush anti-infantry. I'm still learning how to use it, though.

Stealthbender, as I understand it, is a Hellbender exclusive to SP mode that was fitted with stolen Necris stealth technology. It doesn't seem to have made it into the final cut. They made mention of there being a side-mission in SP where you stole Necris stealth tech...
Reporedly, the stealthbender exists in some form in the files, but can't be placed or summoned.

The 4 external seats on the Leviathan are a death trap, any time i see those four seats full i wip out my sniper rifle and head shot the lot of them.

Actually I won't start. It would take too long.

if the person is not visible then you cant.
And the four seaths of the leviathan arent such a death trap as you think, since you can use shields to protect yourself similar to Axon Paladin and then fire powerfull lasers that kills any sniper infantry in seconds... The Sniper hits 1 turret with a lucky headshot? no problem the other 3 or leviathan cannon will finish the job... its all about strategy and with a good one you can have the leviathan almost invincible.

The only thing I really disagree with there is the scorpion self-destruct being useless, I've taken out quite a few enemy tanks and hell benders with that. The scorpion isn't as mobile as the manta so it has considerably more trouble taking on those enemies with it's main gun so it's just easier to launch it. The fact that it takes much less time to activate than the viper self destruct function also make it rather useful, the only thing the viper self destruct has over it is homing.

trust me you will find the vehicle much more usefull when youre in it than just launching it to get a denied self destruct attempt, i know this because ive tested it myself as the scorpion and as the enemy of the scorpion, its easely denied since it requires few damage to destroy it, you will find it more usefull alive killing manta drivers and other vehicles.
Viper is much harder to kill since it flies in your direction having no contact with the ground during the self destruct homing flight, but with a little practice avoiding vipers self destruct will be possible too depending of which vehicle you are in that is :P
