the only issue with that is, it'll auto cycle the music... so you'll have music that isn't for that specific map... and having media player / winamp / vlc player will lag me perosnally for performance wise anyway..

I personally turn off the game's music and listen MP3's with media player classic(It hardly uses any processing power so it won't affect your performance, at least it doesn't affect mine).

Just an alternative for those who don't like the dynamic music. (I do like it, but I like my mp3's more.)

i wouldn't mind download a 200mb music patch... if it fixed the issue or if someone could mod the official maps... just wish i was that good or i'd have done that already..

That's exactly it. Open up the Unreal Editor and see for yourself.

it would be a very nice thing to add... its about the only thing wrong with UT3 now.. disable dynamic music completely, just doesn't really work... and u miss more then half the music

this would be a very nice option. the dynamic music function is a nice idea, but for a game like UT, most players agree, it does not work very well...

this might be suited to slower paced fps or rpg but not UT.

an option to have songs play normally, like they always have would be best. honestly, the music is really good, we want to hear the songs as they were written, not the first few bits over and over again.

I disagree with them having to include music files and propose an update solution:

Simply make an option that turns on "regular" music in maps. The way this would function is by simply telling the game that the player is consistantly getting kills so the music continues on a regular basis. It would not score or anything, just make the engine think it so the song will continue. This update would be considered a tweak at best, and would be under a megabyte, if not smaller.

Would be nice, but yeah they would have to provide the music files in a patch because there are no full songs in the sound files for this game.

normal song is not possible... music files are already split into pieces...

only way to do it is reimport the music, mod the map so it uses that imported music...

Unreal 3 uses a "dynamic music score" Which progressively gets more intense as you get more kills. Unfortunately if you dont get a kill within 15 or so seconds it reverts back to either silence, or a very boring version of the song for the level.

I listened to all the songs through unreal Ed and they are awesome! I rarely ever get a chance to hear them while playing either because I dont find an enemy within 15 seconds, or I just suck that game :P

Epic, can you add an option to just hear the song play and loop like it did in UT2004? The idea was good, but you dont get to appreciate the "epic" feel of the music score.

In my opinion, Gears of War and the UT series have had some wonderful music with a very "hectic action feel" that rivals the Halo soundtrack. I cant tell you how annoying it is to kill someone, have the music get intense, but then I cant find a player for about 20 seconds and it dims down to a lull.

I can equate it to turning the music score completely off during a fierce battle in a movie. Its just a downer
Working...
