Unreal 3 uses a "dynamic music score" Which progressively gets more intense as you get more kills. Unfortunately if you dont get a kill within 15 or so seconds it reverts back to either silence, or a very boring version of the song for the level.
I listened to all the songs through unreal Ed and they are awesome! I rarely ever get a chance to hear them while playing either because I dont find an enemy within 15 seconds, or I just suck that game :P
Epic, can you add an option to just hear the song play and loop like it did in UT2004? The idea was good, but you dont get to appreciate the "epic" feel of the music score.
In my opinion, Gears of War and the UT series have had some wonderful music with a very "hectic action feel" that rivals the Halo soundtrack. I cant tell you how annoying it is to kill someone, have the music get intense, but then I cant find a player for about 20 seconds and it dims down to a lull.
I can equate it to turning the music score completely off during a fierce battle in a movie. Its just a downer
