I was never a fan of the lightning gun anyway. I found it much less satisfying to use than the standard sniper rifle.

back in the 2k3/2k4 days I always wanted to have the sniper instead of LG. Now that the lg is gone I want it back so bad after playing 2k4 again for a while...dont know why, but to me killing with the LG was more satisfying than both, the classic and the UT3 sniper

Too many UT99 players moaned about it when 2k3 came out.

Myself having played since the original Unreal was released, loved the introduction of the LG, for some bizarre reason I was so good at aiming with LG, also for me the sound and way it felt when hitting someone was faaar more satisfying than hitting someone with a sniper bullet.

Now in UT3 I find the sniper rifle extreeeeemly boring, and the sound of the gun firing is so annoying..(while im on the sound of weapons the stinger primary fire sound is unbelievably annoying, like nails on a chalk board for me, its too screechy and metallic, I hardly ever use it simply for that reason lol)

Imho sniper rifles belong in ww2 games, and futuristic dm style games work best with.. erm..futuristic style weapons..?.. like the railgun from q3, now THAT was a great hitscan weapon, it really felt like you were doing some serious damage when you landed a shot

LG lover here too. ;> The new Sniper Rifle is ok, but it simply doesn't have such a great feel as the LG... LG headshots are kinda ecstatic, combined with the 2k4 announcer I personally like a bit more, the "plonk!" hitsound and your victim's burning neck. The Sniper Rifle is just nothing... doesn't feel any satisfying to get a headshot with it, sorry. :/

It's kinda anticlimactic sure, but I've gotten used to it. Buh bye LG, no great loss. I just wish the new sniper would zoom as far as the LG did. If they're going to use a sniper rifle in the distant future, you'd think they could build a better scope.

Sorry, the UT3 Sniper Rifle is just a lot more satisfying to use as a sniping weapon. I'd only want to see the Lightning Gun brought back if it's turned into an anti-vehicle weapon.

Well it was either the Lightning Gun or the Sniper Rifle.

I'd use either one of them but i'd rather use the sniper rifle.
