    Hearing MICS without having one?

If youve ever played xbox 360 you know that when you play online theres an option that allows you to hear mics without having one connected which IMO is great. Im pretty sure you cannot hear mics without having one in UT3 because I havent heard a single person talk so far.

Is it possible to change this feature in the future through patches or is this a permanent thing that cannot be changed?

It sounds pretty changable through patches, but whether it'll be implemented is very unlikely....most PC gamers who care about communication use a mic, so there's no real middle ground...Im not saying it's not gonna happen, but the chances are low...

You're not hearing anyone because no one is talking. At least on the PC version, no one is; I don't know how things are on the PS3 end. We all just tacitly know what needs to be done without having to discuss it.

Typically you will find that nobody is using ingame voice a) because it is a public and people generally don't b) because they are using an external program such as ventrillo or teamspeak.

thats true, but that doesnt mean that communication in UT3 isnt important. Lets say your playing CTF or Warfare, you just got killed while trying to protect the base. You notify all players that the flagholder got away, or vise versa. Its important to notify other teamates current situations, or assign positions, proper strategy. Or even come up with plans based on the other teams playing style. It would be a huge plus in team games. In deathmatches, etc, its more of a social thing and **** talking.

Thats true for pc's but not PS3. So, i think even an option to hear mics is important. Because if you dont own one, and your apart of a team, you should still be able to follow the team based on their plans, or orders. They would be aware you dont have a mic, but communicate to you still. Its also good for noobs. If a noob on your team is doing the wrong thing, you can explain to him what to do and what not to do.
