Hardware, Real World Statistics. Best prices.

These are not reviews/comparisons. These links show real world statistics using 3Dmark06 for todays hardware. Also there is a pretty cool (see how well your pc will handle the latest games) hardware test. Enjoy!

Oh yea! There are also alot of links to different prices throughout the web as well.(Most of the major ones)

I put up these links just to help people that may be looking into getting new hardware, get the best price, and see how others with the same hardware are getting.

That's a bit of an oxymoron. 3DMark is a synthetic benchmark, and although it has it's uses, determining real-world performance is not one of them.

Well its not only the stats. I posted this for the prices/game test tool as well. All I want to do is help people get the best prices and see a few stats that may help them make a decision. I know that 3Dmark can be sketchy, but this info may be helpfull for some.

It's appreciated. People you should always compare performance from reliable sources, not from opinions on a forum.

Another great resource is Tom's Hardware VGA comparison charts:

Comparisons between all modern video cards and you can customize the chart by game/program and resolution, making it relevant to nearly everyone.

            NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX - 4864
            NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT - 4865
            ATI Radeon HD 3870 - 7051
            ATI Radeon HD 3850 - 4936

These numbers don't reflect real performance, not even a bit.

Of course they do. They represent real performance when running 3dmark06

Yea something is probaly wrong there. I bet the 7 should be a 5. Probaly a typo. The only reason I can see the 3870 getting higher than the GTX is the 10.1 DX, or maybe most of the people that ran 3Dmark with 3870's had them crossfired.

EDIT: It is 7000+ with crossfire. It should be around 5000 with just one. I just tested this myself. Funny though cuz at the bottom of the screen it says all tests are individual results.

This is a cool link also. I wonder why they benched a Overclocked 8800gt rather than the normal. I just compared my 3870 with the 8800gt OC and of couse the 8800gt OC won. I wish they had done the regular one just to see.

I wonder that myself. They have so many cards benchmarked, if you're gonna do the OC may as well do the regular as well.

Its probaly the only one they could get at the time due to the shortage. My younger Bro wanted a 8800gt for christmas, and the only one I could find was the evga 8800gt superclocked edition. It was a really good find cause the card was actualy cheaper than the normal 8800gt by around 20 bucks, so it was win, win.

I know what you mean! Best buy had a post christmas deal for $30 bucks off, so rather than waiting for it to be delivered I was gonna pick it up. From Gainesville (central FL) where I was, and Boynton Beach where I was going, 5 hours away there were only two Best Buys that had a BFG 8800 GT left. When I got there they were gone . So I ordered an XFX 8800 GT. Took forever to get here, but it's great!

Kind of funny, how I have a complete AMD/ATI system, and my second youngest bro has a INTEL/Nvidia system and my youngest bro has a AMD/Nvidia system. We all had to be different. Either way the game runs great on all three.

Having 3 PC gamers in the family must be heaven. Nothing can top LAN gaming.

Well only 2 of us live together, ATI/AMD(me) and INTEL/Nvidia(middle bro). The other brother lives on the other side of the country. When we're all online we have to look for a mutual 100ping somewhere in the middle.lol.
